Acoustic Energy Aego M
1 April 2008
Excerpt: I was drawn to the Aego M because it is built by a serious British speaker designer, and because its price is a modest $199. Don’t be misled by the large box in which the system arrives; the M’s main speakers, in their reassuringly solid alloy cabinets, are actually diminutive. They require the least desktop acreage of any model in this survey. The sub accounts for the bulk of the packaging. It’s nearly the size of a PC tower, but still fits easily under a desk.
Excerpt: (1 items) The UK's Acoustic Energy is well known in audio circles, and even -- since the company's Aego 2 system was released a number of years ago -- in "computer audio." But the original Aego was $600 or so, which placed it out of consideration for most computer users. The Aego M is Acoustic Energy's more-affordable alternative, and it's a relative bargain at a only $200.
