Summary: Better than I expected. Sound is very clear, even when you turn them up to insane levels. Build quality is far better than speakers twice as much. If you are thinking about this set, don't hesitate. You will not be disappointed!

Summary: I did a lot of research before purchasing these (Along with an Acoustech 15" sub and center channel, PL-28II), and I'm glad I finally decided on Acoustech for my living room sound system. The speakers sound great and are honestly a bit smaller than I thought.
Summary: After so many years of experiencing sound through mid level speakers in the likes of Bose/Mtx/Infiniy/Pioneer/Polk/Jvc/Harmon Karden I found one thing for sure.. I was left saying what else is better?
Summary: Slowly but surely the system is coming together. SR 5009 is sweet as molasses pushing the PL 89ii to volumes my ears cant take and sounding solid but a little light on low end bass. So I added the NX 500 and WOW every part of the Music took a step up.

Summary: So far the PL-89s have been fine. My issue has to do with the complete lack of service/warranty available from BIC/Acoustech. I bought TWO PL89s and TWO PL200 subwoofers. They looked and sounded great. Then I heard crackling coming from the left side.
Summary: To start, I love this PL-89II pair and with over an estimated 700 hours I can finally write a review. But let me say that I do not have anything close to a true audiophile ear. They hit every range I could ever expect from a mid-priced tower and more.
Summary: I was going to buy a Klipsch Reference 5.1 setup, but after reading all the reviews for BIC, I decided to buy the BIC Acoustech 5.1 set. The sub is super impressive, the speakers sound great, and the build quality is superb.
I like them more than my far more expensive horn loaded speakers.

Summary: Theses speakers are not only, full, melodic and efficient, and are fantastic on both movies and music. they have an open and airy quality, not shrill like most horns, and this is coming from a Klipsch owner (Cornwall II's, Chorus II's).
Summary: I bought a pair of the PL-89's through ebay, okay, I felt like scum going throgh a Low Bid, free shipping offer, Amazon is a much better retailer, but hey I saved $90 and in this case it worked.
