Summary: Had this speaker installed for a few weeks now and it is performing as I expected it should. The sound is well rounded and it does a great job with bringing out voices as the center channel of my budget home theater. Finding this on Overstock saved me money and helped my project come in under budget. The only complaint is the box was pretty beat up when the speaker was delivered but the speaker seems to be fine.
Summary: I looked at the dimensions of this speaker before buying but was still surprised by how big it is. I placed mine on the TV stand in front of my 42" flat screen, and it's tall enough that it covers a little bit of the bottom of the screen. If you're looking to place this speaker on a TV stand in front of a TV, you might need to consider other options (such as wall-mounting your TV, which I'll be doing next).
Summary: Using it in a Theater Room 7.1. setup Very good quality speaker for the price. Easy installation on the wall. Sound quality is clear at high volume levels. Sounds is about the same as klipsch center speaker. I would buy it again.
Summary: After days and hours of research, I purchased this speaker along with the BIC PL-200 Acoustech Platinum Series Subwoofer and a pair of the BIC Acoustech PL-89 Tower Speakers. Very impressed with their look, construction, weight, sound and performance. The only thing I wish I did was purchase the PL-28 Center Speaker instead, as it would be a better match with the PL-200 and PL-89 lines in terms of wattage. But the PL-26 is not far off.
Summary: When I took The cover off there was glue smear below the horn. Craftsmanship is nice but not as good as my Klipsch. The difference between this and there $106.00 dollar version is the outside construction. I paid $180.00 for this speaker. Personally they need to come down in price about $30.00. That would give this speaker a 5 star.
Summary: The PL-26 replaced by PSB Image speaker that I bought in 2004. Although the PSB was high end, the PL-26 sounds much clearer, a better warranty, and cheaper in price. I have done a ton of research and feel this speaker is of equal quality and sound as the Klipsch Reference series and better than the POLK TSI series. I was a bit skeptical since I could not hear them in the store, but after getting them and comparing them, I am completely satisfied.
Summary: I bought this to replace a Polk Audio CS series center channel. The Polk was a bass-reflex, had 5 1/2 inch drivers and a smallish dome tweeter. Sound quality was certainly good for the price range when I bought it six years ago. Despite the specs, the sound always sounded a bit muddy. Dialogue was sometimes difficult to hear and wasn't as clear as I would have liked. This changed with the Acoustech PL-26.
