Amazing Sound Quality

Nick, usa.yamaha.com
31 January 2014
  • Summary: I really hit the jackpot, these earbuds are great. They have great, clear highs and amazing instrument separation (gives the feeling that you are inside the song while its being recorded). These earbuds are not for people who enjoy heavy bass, as the highs are stronger than the bass. There is enough bass for most types of music, but not heavy-bass music like EDM. Classical music, rock music, most pop songs sound great with these earbuds.
  • Pros: Comfortable, Compact, Crystal clear sound, Good Value, Great Sound
  • Cons: Falls Off/Out Of Ear, Flimsy Construction

Asymetric headphone cords

Baby Gerald, J&R
22 April 2011
  • Summary: Judging from the two previous reviews, it seems some people just don't get the idea of the 'asymmetrical headphone cord'. The idea is to wrap the right earphone's cord around the back of your neck. Just look at the instructions that come in the box. This allows you to hang the earbuds around your neck when not in use.
  • Pros: Comfortable, Compact, Good Value, Great Sound, Lightweight

Great Canalphones!

Hunter-Gatherer, J&R
15 April 2011
  • Summary: The only thing I don't personally like about these headphones is that the cord for the right ear is significantly longer than the left. I realize they were made to use as in-ear monitors and the right ones can come around the head, but it just looks funny when you're not using them as in-ears. Enough about the aesthetics, these headphones are great!
  • Pros: Comfortable, Good Bass, Great Sound

These Headphones are a joke!

DCMTFv10.0, J&R
10 December 2010
  • Summary: These Headphones are a joke! They are all Defective! Yamaha should take them off the shelf and J&R should not sell them point. Look on other site reviews and you will find people say the left side wire of the headphones is shorter then the right side headphone. L/side is 2in of wire and the right is 9in to 10in long. There is no adjustment for it that is how it was made. The sound of these is like if you took too cheap tweeters and put them on your ears.
  • Pros: Lightweight, Stylish
  • Cons: 300 Headphone for 29, Cheap junk, Cord Too Short, Defective all of them, Don't buy, Fall off ears, Falls Off/Out Of Ear, Flimsy Construction, Ipod OEM are better then, No bass at all, Or 300 heaphones for40, Overpriced, Poor Sound, Poor Value, Sounds like a tweeter, Too Much Ambient Noise, Weak midrange sound, Wire to short

  • Summary: The EPH-30's are the odd one out in the family of in-ear Yamaha headphones. The highs, clarity, and bass are a significant step down from the EPH-20, and make the music sound muffled. The comfort of this headphone is good, the lack of a circle of plastic to stop them going into your ear canal and the uneven cord lengths are both good things in my opinion. Because of the sound quality I can't recommend this headphone, but the others in the range are worth considering.
