  • Summary: The Westone UM2s strike me as being a good and thoroughly thought out design. Considering the price of nearly $300 these earphones are only suited for audiophiles and perhaps musicians that crave high quality.
  • Pros: Dual-driver solution, Excellent fit, Superb comfort, Bass and midbass performance, Balanced mids, 50" cable, Copes well with microphonics, Well suited sound signature for most music genres, Sound stage, Open sound, Well worth the price, Detailed sound, Sufficient amount of bass for most music types
  • Cons: Pricey

  • Summary: I upgraded from a pair of UM1s because they didn't deliver the bass I wanted. I used these while practicing the bass and listening to my iPOD. The dual drivers really deliver a high fidelity sound with hard to believe bass for the size.
  • Pros: Great bass, dual drivers
  • Cons: A little bulky, not cheap

  • Summary: Disclaimer I bought these about 3 years ago, used them a lot and got to "know" them well. The (sort of a) good thing is: They still perform as good as they did when I first tried them on. But that was not too good.
  • Pros: Loud, excellent noise isolation, highly detailed midrange
  • Cons: Poor bass response, cheap "boxy" bass, "pointy" overall sound

  • Summary: This is my first review and I'm not an audiophile so bear with me. And due to my incredibly bad writing, this could be short. I had this earphone for about 2 weeks now. And during those 2 weeks, I've been listening to Jazz, Rock, Pop, Indie, Techno, and a little Dubstep via a ROTEL CD Player to a...
  • Pros: Great sounding, Variety of tips, Removable Cable, Fantastic Isolation (Up to 25 DB)
  • Cons: Incredibly dodgy build quality

  • Summary: I lost these on the train, and boy was I sad. UM2 are good phones, the best thing about Westone is their almost legendary build quality. Make no mistake, these puppies are built to last: strain relief out the woozah, and a thick plastic housing that looks and feels tough.
  • Pros: built like a brick shithouse, good soundstage
  • Cons: isolation, price

  • Summary: Intro: I must say the UM2 sounds better than the UM3x which I sold shortly after few months. In short; it sounds more articulate, airy and more expansive. The UM3x sounded too bloated, closed in and collapsed to me; the soundstage was too narrow and the UM2 doesn't share the same trait which is great.
  • Pros: Good separation, pleasing midrange. Airy and engaging
  • Cons: Highs roll off
