you're buying a piece of equipment with an extremely short useful life and no back-up plan when the wireless connection ...

Summary: I purchased the unit 12/13 in manufacturer refurbished condition. The unit stopped working after 2 years, the same problem reported in other reviews - the Subwoofer (and 2 slave speakers) won't connect to the Soundbar, so they are essentially not working (even though all that appears to be broken is their ability to communicate to each other). The Soundbar still works, but that's nothing compared to losing the Subwoofer and surround experience (which is amazing).
Summary: Our family enjoyed the rich sound, however the product comes short in the quality control area. The Led volume indicators stopped working after a week or two, the after about a year had to frequently power cycle the subwoofer as it lost pairing with the bar. Lastly, almost two years to the date of purchase, I reached for the power button on top of the bar, got a major zap and it quit functioning altogether.
Summary: I received this Visio VHT510 and the subwoofer and attached speakers would not work. I paired them as directed and after 5 failed attempts I called tech support. The young lady was polite but was reading the manual to me as I read it. I could hear the papers shuffling in the background. She transferred me to the second tier of support, another nice young lady who also didn't have any suggestions.
Good sound for the price, too high defective rate.

Summary: This soundbar comes with a decent subwoofer and two small surround satellite speakers. The sound quality of the soundbar itself is pretty good for an entry level model. The subwoofer is decent for a small room. The surround satellite speakers' quality is exactly what you'd expect from an inexpensive small speaker.
Summary: Short Version: never really got 5.1 surround working. I spent way too much time fiddling with this as it is. Longer Version: I purchased this with the hopes of getting an easy, affordable surround sound system into my house. I don't like A/V systems and I just wanted something easy and decent. After bringing it home, and hooking it up to my system, I come to find out that I can't get surround sound from the XBox or my BluRay player.
Summary: After two days of use, the status indicator lights no longer works and the arrows displaying gain controls for balance, volume, fader, are no longer lit up. There's a plethora of posts on the Vizio website from buyers who have this problem, with one poster saying that they were told by tech support to disconnect the power, push in the power button for 30 sec. to reset, then reconnect power to sound bar, and the lights came back on.
Summary: Got it yesterday. It wasn't hard to set up but the rear speakers and subwoofer will not link with the sound bar. They are sending me a new one which is good, but their customer service reps are very poorly trained. It sounds like a bunch of 14 year olds who have no interest in helping. Very annoying to deal with them. Will update this when my new one shows up. Hopefully it will work.
Summary: Purchased this item hoping for a simple surround sound solution without all the wires. When I got it and open the box realized the rear channel speaker ran off the subwoofer via wire and the sub was wireless. Didn't like this, was hoping for all wireless. The rear speaker did not work at first and after 2 hours and push all the option on the system they started working. The next day the system started going in and out.
