  • Summary: I purchased this item from The Happy Store, an Amazon seller. The item was defective. I contacted the manufacturer, Vizio. They walked me through a couple of steps to try to correct the situation. At the end of the call, the rep said "the item is defective, we will send you a replacement.

Don't buy from Vizio - worst customer service I ever experienced in my life

  • Summary: I bought my Vizio VHT510 5.1-Channel Home Theater System via Amazon.com. The actual seller was GPCK INC, I think. As indicated in many product reviews, the LED volume indicators on the soundbar stopped working in Jun 2012. When I called Vizio, they told me that since I did not buy it from an authorized retailer, my warranty is invalid. Therefore, they did not help me. Even though I sent them my original invoice, they said that GPCK INC should not sell these items.

never worked

  • Summary: Subwoofer and satellite speakers never worked. Three calls to Vizio support were no help. With all the time I've wasted trying to get this to work, I could have bought a full priced Bose system. Sorry, have to run and repackage everything to send it back.

Lights lasted a week....

  • Summary: I liked the sound and appearance of the Vizio but the one problem everyone else that bought this seemed to have was the lighted sound bars. After 3 days it stopped working and Vizio technicians could not fix it. They offered to replace it But I had no doubt that the replacement would do the same time so I boxed it up and sent it back to Amazon. I also think Amazon has the best return policy of any online business. I give 5 stars to Amazon and 1 star to Vizio.

  • Summary: I read the reviews and just didn't listen. Many people complained about the lights that show volume, fade, bass, treble, etc would burn out. I think mine lasted about 2 weeks. The sound is OK, but the quality is poor, poor, poor. I can't believe Vizio has not fixed this.

Disappointed Consumer Reports Reader

  • Summary: Like another reviewer, I bought this system on the strength of a consumer reports article which rated this unit highly. This is the first time in 20 years that I have ever been burned following the advice of consumer reports. I am highly disappointed and would not recommend this system. In fact, based on this experience, I will not buy any Vizio product. I received the first shipment on 2/7/11. It was fairly easy to set up/install and I had no problems the first evening.

Like everyone else, bad volume indicator LEDs

  • Summary: I should have followed the advice of the other reviewers. My volume indicator LEDs died the first day. Vizio had me unplug the set, hold power for 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. After that the indicator worked for a few hours and quit again. Now the power trick doesn't fix it. The set sounds great, but I'm not sure I can live with this defect.

Still waiting

  • Summary: I purchased this unit about a month ago. When I tried to hook it up, the wireless woofer would not respond to the sound bar. I contacted tech support, who took me through the steps to set it up. When it still would not work, they had me ship it back to them, and they would replace it with a new one. When the "new one" arrived,(With a lower serial number than the first, in a box that didn't appear to be new), it wouldn't work either.
