Worked well, warranty claim reasonably handled

Bruce B., Newegg
2 March 2012
  • Summary: jLabs, for example, replaced another bud set without us needing to send the broken set back and hence we got a new pair within a week. This was another "one ear not working" problem and jLabs approach recognized that we still want a headset, even if not perfect, while we are waiting for the...
  • Pros: Worked with iPod Nano 5g, 2 year warranty, my daughter liked them well enough. Warranty response at just over 2 weeks (from when I shipped until I got it back).
  • Cons: One ear went out at about 6 months; V-Moda requested the earphones back insured and tracked (i.e., increased shipping costs for moi).

Great, little things...

Shay M., Newegg
4 September 2011
  • Summary: The volume control doesn't work with my 4th generation I-pod Nano (the square), yet It doesn't say it should in the specs so it is not really a con but a minor inconvenience... I use these for when I'm on the go or working out and they have served me well so far...
  • Pros: Nice balance of bass and treble, nice clear sound These ear-buds do a great job at keeping the sound in It has an interesting sports band (each ear-bud has its own) that wires the ear-buds around your ear that is nice and comfortable and also is detachable/attachable I got them on sale for 25$
  • Cons: Nothing really, would have liked the sports bands to be black instead of grey. Just a personal preference

Nice buds, overpriced at retail

Anonymous, Newegg
30 August 2011
  • Summary: Haven't given these much time for burn-in but overall quite pleased with the discount and sale. For 21.99 these are pretty nice solid buds. For 46.99, they're okay/adequate. For 79.99 retail, somewhat lacking or overpriced.
  • Pros: Nice look, solid construction. Wide spatial sound profile for earbuds (large sound stage) As people have said, it's a pretty even as far as low/mids/highs. Lots of cone selections: 2 colors (white and black) and 4 sizes each make good fits for almost any ear. Also included is an over-ear clip for...
  • Cons: While Newegg has a section on the product that says "Universal Compatibility", it definitely is not as far as the remote is concerned. All packaging clearly indicates this, in fact, there's even a tag on the cord that says "volume controls may not work on all devices/see packaging for compatibili...

Not for Androids.

Dorvena S., Newegg
30 August 2011
  • Summary: They sound good on my laptop but don't work on everything.
  • Pros: They are super comfortable and sound great. Plus lots of accessories. The buds feel solid and look good.
  • Cons: Does not work at all with my archos 43 which was disappointing. There is no midrange sound and because of the 3 ring on the connector. Just no way to make it work.

Gotta break them in...

Andrew P., Newegg
28 August 2011
  • Summary: Note that the control features may or may not work with your Android phone. On my Samsung captivate the microphone works and the Play/Pause Button. The volume button's don't work. All the features work great on my MBP & iPad2.
  • Pros: Good build quality with lots of extra ear cups and carrying pouch. Sound quality is fairly accurate--great for phone conversations and classical / jazz. May not be the best for Hip Hop / R&B. In order to get the best potential out of these earphones, make sure you break them in. Made a huge diffe...
  • Cons: Out of the box, they tend to be tinny with weak bass. After breaking them in, they sound better but still a bit weak on the bass. May want to file down or use some steel wool to round out some of the rough edges on the ear pieces. Did nick myself once.

HTC phones: mic will not work

JOSHUA N., Newegg
19 August 2011
  • Summary: There is some issue with the way the 4-pole 3.5mm male connector is wired to the control pod. Although these phones will work with the unified ear/mic 3.5mm panel jack on my Lenovo notebook and an Apple iPhone 3 or 4, Android smartphone microphone functionality is 100% muted.
  • Pros: Good value in standard-driver in-ear headphones. Contol pod well constructed. Large supply of ear-bud tips provided. Quality cabling. Audio quality approching my UE super-fi armature IEMs. iPhone users will enjoy.
  • Cons: microphone will not work with most non-apple smartphones despite claims by V-Moda in documentation and on their website

Very good sound. Be sure to try different tips.

Anonymous, Newegg
14 August 2011
  • Summary: To overcome the illegible R and L markings I use a black tip on the right side and a clear tip on the left. If you feel the sound isn't as good as it should be try different tips. Make sure you have the tips installed correctly, don't push them on too far.
  • Pros: - Comfortable - Clean neutral sound - Good choice of tips - Solid build - High quality - Flexible cord
  • Cons: - Right and Left markings are hard to see - Metal housing may be cold in the winter

Great buds but need equalized

Ethan L., Newegg
12 August 2011
  • Pros: --Accessories. Comes with 4 different size buds, each size comes in two different color choices (black and clear). Also comes with over-the-ear accessories to securely hold the ear buds in place, and a clothing clip to manage the wires. --Comfortable. The buds don't hurt your ear canals after a l...
  • Cons: --Like many ear buds, the cord is way too short for using with a desktop. So you'll need an extension cable or your phone/mp3 player to use these at work. --My biggest complaint is these buds are WAAAAY too bright. After a few minutes of listening my ears were ringing. That is unacceptable. Of co...

Great Value

Erin D., Newegg
4 August 2011
  • Pros: Great sounds. There are four pairs of different sized silicon ear pieces in black and "clear" each (8 total pairs). Easy to find a pair that fits. Set is sturdy. Excellent and completely satisfied. If these are on a major sale or shell shocker, do not hesitate if you need a new pair. I paid an en...
  • Cons: Does not control iPod 60GB Video. However, it isn't advertised to do so.

Great sound

Brett A., Newegg
7 June 2011
  • Pros: As advertised, these buds work as they say and I'm not dissapointed with them at all.
  • Cons: The only grip I might have is that they tangle pretty easy.
