Summary: The V-MODA M-100 are pure win on so many levels. For starters they M-100 can be customized on a variety of different levels. From choosing a specific colored aircraft grade metal shield to adding a laser engraved image or text as well. Then there’s the comfort and durability factory as well. The M-100 are tough, military tough, tested to exceed standards for strength and backed by a 2 year warranty and replacement program.
Excerpt: I’ve had my eye on V-Moda for a while. Not only have they received some recent awards, but the trend of melding fashion with wearable tech puts a bullseye right on the company. The thing is, V-Moda hasn’t been doing anything different since their humble beginnings. People have finally caught on to the notion that tech should look as good as it performs.
Excerpt: V-MODA sent the Geeks a sample of their Crossfade M-100 headphones with some interchangeable cables which included their SpeakEasy Mic, SharePlay Audio and BoomPro, CoilPro and 3-button cables. V-MODA crowdsourced the creative process to design the Crossfade M-100 headphones tapping into audiophiles, producers, editors and DJs to fine-tune the sound and ergonomics.
Summary: V-Moda manages to improve on their already high quality headphones with the release of the Crossfade M-100s, a pair of professional DJ-quality cans that truly manages to enhance the sound of whatever you're listening to. This can be attributed to both the 50mm drivers that pump out crystal clear sound as well as the noise isolation within the ear cups that really envelops you in the music or movie you're enjoying.
Pros: Sound Quality:, Noise Cancellation (Or Should We Say, Isolation):, Durability:, Build Quality and Customization:, Versatility:
Excerpt: The Good - Sound quality - Warranty - Construction The Bad - Steep price - Poorly-considered controls on cable - Headband fatigue Headphones are made these days with just about everyone in mind. Sets can be found for the people that love head-rattling bass or guitar twanging treble, and in configurations geared towards a true audiophile.
Conclusion: The quality of construction, overall sound, functionality, and comfort of the Crossfade M-100 are quite good. The construction aspect I most appreciated was the headphones' ability to fold compactly. Also, the headphone design is compact, so you can use these over-the-ear headphones while doing activities like traveling or exercising.
V-Moda Crossfade M-100 Headphones Review: Designed With Audiophiles in Mind
22 July 2013
Summary: V-MODA delivers yet again another fine piece of audio equipment. Their strive for perfection is certainly seen with the M-100. While the overall design of the headphones may not appeal to all consumers, the sound quality certainly will. The price of $310 might be a bit sticky for some, but if you enjoy a true audio experience, and a pair of headphones that were specifically made for you – then the M-100’s are a must have.
Pros: Military grade construction, manages to squeeze in just about every request from audiophiles and sound professionals into one pair of headphones, exoskeleton case is now smaller, sound quality is crisp and clean, highs excel and are supported by a warm low end, sharing means caring with the new Shareplay cable.
Cons: Bass could be a drop more present, it’s too pricey for poor audiophiles who would enjoy these most, V-CORK seals are easily lost due to size and are hard to remove from the headphone input, and design may not appeal to all consumers.
Excerpt: It’s always interesting when V-MODA unleashes a new headphone. The original LP Crossfade was V-MODA’s ambitious – and successful – entry into the ever-competitive world of headphones. Its sibling, the Crossfade M-80, was a smaller – and better sounding – headphone. (See the Related Links for reviews of those headphones.) Their newest model is quite unique. The Crossfade M-100 is a crowd-sourced headphone.
Pros: Tough and well constructed, Folds to extremely small space, Audiophile quality sound, Removable, Kevlar cords, Replaceable shields
