Summary: The wired turtle beach headsets are great, however the wireless one is horrible. The headset gets interference and cuts out from all wireless signals even things that are on different frequencies. Unless you live in a cave with no wireless technology other than this headset, do not buy it. Additionally Turtle Beach does not give a damn, they know of the issue and have done nothing to better shield the headset or offer any kind of recourse.
Summary: I bought this as a Christmas gift for an avid gamer. When it arrived, it was dead in the box. A trouble ticket was opened with Turtle Beach, and for the first two days they refused to help me. They believed that because I got such a great deal on this from Amazon, I had either purchased a refurbished or counterfeit unit. After several messages back and forth, I had finally convinced them that I had purchased a new unit.
Summary: I have used numerous headsets from "low-end" Turtle Beach headsets to Astros. I decided to try these and was very disappointed on a number of levels. I sit literally less than 3 feet in front of my TV and these things dropped my voice when chatting and altered it in a strange way. I went to download the software and it was even more confusing. It wasn't developed effectively, (I am very computer literate) but it took me a while to get accustomed to the software.
Poor sound quality due to cracking/popping noises from interference

Summary: My experience with this headset was poor because I could not resolve severe popping and crackling sounds caused by wireless interference. I tried to troubleshoot the problem to no avail. I'll have to try a wired headset or a headset that uses 5ghz frequency. If I didn't have the interference problem, I would have rated this product 4 stars.
Summary: Be advised! This review is being written by Theresa's Dad. When my kids asked me what I wanted for father's day, I asked for this. I own an EarForce X3 and DSS Surround sound add-on. Both are great products but when I saw the XP500, I knew I had to have it. After seting it up, I started playing Gears of War 3. The sound was amazing! The phones fit over the ears, and the surround presets were great. Wow! The wireless chat Bluetooth was also a plus.
