Great. As long as it works. Stay away.
9 August 2014
Summary: Sound was great, Dolby Surround almost perfect... As long as it works. After few months breakaway cable went broken. Not expensive replacement. After another few months the control unit started switching itself without reason. That was enough... Amazon Customer Service was really helpfull to sort this issue. However I will stay away from Turtle Beach. It looks like they now make cheap, low quality headset for high end price.
Summary: I never go out of my way to write a review...but $250 headphones that only last two weeks?!?!?! Come on Turtle Beach! I am very unsatisfied. My $60 headphones lasted longer than these. I should have listened to the others...please don't make the same mistake I did. I took great care of these...next thing I know, one ear goes out. I unplugged the chord going from the headset to the controls and plugged them in.
Uncomfortable sub pare performance and too complicated.

Summary: I felt the earphones were uncomfortable. Too many wires, too complicated to operate. The amplifier was too large, but worst of all, there was a buzzing noize in the microphone unless the chat volume was turned down so low that it was almost useless. I gave them away and purchased the 510 which I am very happy with.
Summary: After using these very expensive headphones for several months I can steadfastly state that I am thoroughly disappointed in Turtle Beach's flagship headphones for ONE INCREDIBLY BLATANT DESIGN FLAW; For some reason these headphones clip sounds quieter than a given level. So, to restate: extremely QUIET sounds are choppy and sound like they are fading in and out rapidly.
Step Backward, No airflow, Topband Digs, Bad presets.

Summary: Pros Extremely customizable presets. Advance Sound Editor Software. Compatible with any setup. Microphone is good. Cons Not Dolby 7.1 Pleather Ear Cups (Feels heavy, no airflow, gets hot) Little padding on headband, digs into head. Digital optic audio cable is unbelievably cheap and thin. Audio cuts in and out because the threshold is set to max by default. You have to download software to correct this.
This set really shines in a few areas and then one feature just destroys its ability to function.

Summary: First I would like to say I have had a lot of headsets. This set really shines in a few areas and then one feature just destroys its ability to function. When I first got it I was very happy and really enjoyed the feel and sound. Pros: * The headset is very sturdy. I'd say quality manufacturing. (again 8 of 10) * Sound quality is 8 out of 10 much better than your average pair of head phones. * This type of headset can get heavy on the neck exp.

Summary: Pros: - Amazing positional accuracy - In game sounds are amazing - crazy configurations Cons: - Does not work with PC - Their support takes about 3 days to respond 1 time Well after reading countless reviews on this headset I decided to take the plunge and get it over all the others in the price range. I chose these over the other sevens due to the fact that I game on an xbox, pc, and playstation. So these seemed like the perfect choice.
Summary: Pros: These headphones sound great for music and games. Great bass. Cons: They sound bad for movies. Anytime there's low ambient noise with just perhaps dialog, the ambient noise cuts in and out in the background. This happens to all movies, youtube videos, etc. Replaced them once already due to loud squeak/grinding noise when twisting the ear cups (yes they're supposed to twist).
Summary: I've been using this headset for about 4 months now... I love Turtle Beaches, I really do, but for a top of the line headset... this was really disappointing. It wasn't as much as the headset, it was extremely comfortable, and sounded amazing, but the design of the headset that was horrible. Super sensitive touch buttons that ALWAYS get touched if you brush your hand over it, let alone the controller itself is pointless.
Summary: Now before I go into the review, Turtle Beach's website says that these are compatible with the PS4. To me, and I would venture to guess, anyone that doesn't work for Turtle Beach, compatible would mean that the items contained in the box work properly with the PS4. I am having substantial audio problems with the XP Sevens and the Audio Control Unit. During game play the volume will go down to a level such that you could barely hear the spoken word.
