They suck all it does is pop and crack and cut out
12 April 2014
Summary: If I could do it all over again I would never had bought the X41 I would have waited and bought a better set. I couldn't stand the popping and the cracking when I was playing online and I thought it may be the batteries but I put new batteries in the headset and nothing changed, I feel this product is poorly rated and needed to be addressed. They are not worth paying 199.95 for and I wish I never bought them.
Pros: The wifi but it turned out to be not good at all
Cons: The cracking and poping noise in my ear and the cutting out
Summary: I bought this headset for my son, within 2 months he was experiencing the same problems everyone else had been. We still had the warrenty but Turtle Beach would not exchange the headset. His issue was popping in and out, people not being able to hear him or he couldn't hear them. I explained this to Turtle Beach and sent all neccessary documentation required and they began to send pieces for the headset via mail to fix issue and they sent back the same headset we sent...
Summary: Everything seems to be okay except that it came with the wrong cable...It was missing the power cable that has a usb end (which connects to the headphone) and the DC end (which connects to the power supply). Without this cable I cannot even turn this on so I am unable to use it until I get the cable. Turtle beach says this has a manufacture warranty but it takes weeks and it's all done through email. I ended up just having to buy the missing cable myself.
Summary: Wow, talk about being disappointed. I really wanted to like these. Unfortunately, not only are they made of cheap plastic (I could overlook that) and the buttons/controls are cheesy (I could overlook that too) but the static and popping are just unbearable. They sound pretty good when they work, but man, when they get to popping it's just maddening because there's no escape except to wait it out.
Summary: so I received this great set of headphones to play with on xbox live, set up easy, great sound, and then the mic stops working 15 days after I opened them. Now I'm in the middle of trying to get them replaced by turtle beach....lots of luck. I would NOT get these again.
Summary: I never write reviews, but I feel Turtle Beach and consumers need to know about this product. I bought these for Xmas for my son to use on XBox Live. I work in IT and have been troubleshooting for many years. I tried another XBox 360. I tried different controllers both wired and wireless. We are approaching the end of January, and we are waiting on the new cable. The Good: The sound quality is great and setup was very easy.
Summary: There are plenty of things to be concerned about with these headphones. Please give some weight to the negative reviews on here, as I've experienced most of the same problems and they sum up to a really frustrating experience. They are common enough that you can expect to, as well. Among the issues that I've dealt with: * The "famous" popping/scratching. It's bad enough that when I emailed Turtle Beach about it ([...
UPDATE: Buyer Beware! Numerous issues noted on Turtle Beach Website
5 December 2009
Summary: I received my X41s on December 2, 2009 and I have had nothing but headaches and ear aches - LITERALLY. Numerous popping and cracking sounds and loud hissing emitting from the earphones, chat echo on XBox Live, and volume control issues via the dial on the headset. To manage the volume, you have to do it from within the Options Menu on the game you are playing (eg. Modern Warefare 2).
