Turtle Beach Ear Force X41-one word GARBAGE
8 September 2012
Summary: I bought this headset for my son, within 2 months he was experiencing the same problems everyone else had been. We still had the warrenty but Turtle Beach would not exchange the headset. His issue was popping in and out, people not being able to hear him or he couldn't hear them. I explained this to Turtle Beach and sent all neccessary documentation required and they began to send pieces for the headset via mail to fix issue and they sent back the same headset we sent...
Summary: I ordered this product hoping it would be better than what I currently have. It wasn't!! I currenttly have the Turtle Beach X31 headset and the Turtle Beach DDS. The Turtle Beach X41 did worse. I realize this is mostly personal, but I missed a fair amount or ambient noise (game environment sounds) or in-game sounds (shooting or footsteps, etc.). The X41 also lacked in depth of range, I missed the deeper bass sounds.
Summary: Only after 6 days of use this particular headset has become unbearable. During use it has constant popping and buzzing sounds. Also the headset periodically drops its signal. The Battery life is pretty bad as well. Overall it is a frustrating device that for the price does not deliver the audio experience any gamer is looking for.
Summary: Folks, no where, o no where, does it say in the product description that an HDMI AV adapter is needed to attach the device to the XBox. You would think, spending this much darned money that they could have included this three dollar item. Now I need to sit and wait until the small item gets delivered. Buyers beware - make sure you have an RCA / Toslink Audio Adapter for Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 Slim in your house, or order this part at the same time.
Summary: THis headset broke after 2 weeks and only around 30 hours of gameplay. First the game sound wouldn't come out and then the chat sound died. I had to give it on star because amazon won't let me give it zero stars. I recomend tritton ax pro's, razer chimera 5.1, turtlebeach px5, turtlebeach xp500, and astro's as they won't brake after 2 weeks.
Summary: This product does not work as advertised. I put them on opposite ears and there was no difference. I had these for 4 months and they work every other day. On the days they do work there is a horrible echo. This is a waste of money Astros are better and last for 5 years not 4 months.
Summary: Not useable with my wireless router. Their explanation, this is not an issue with the Turtle Beach Headset (and it is not defective) but a limitation of the RF Wireless Technology. the only alternative option might be to use Wired Headphones. There is only so much bandwidth available. Funny, I don't have this issue with my wireless Sennheiser Surrounnd Sound headphones. Before purchasing go to turtlebeach.com and read the knowledge data base, clicking and then shut off.
Summary: The microphone broke after less than 3 months of minimal game play. When I followed the steps to return on the Turtle Beach website they follow up with all kinds of non relevant suggestion to correct their poor quality product. Don't buy this junk unless you love aggravation and hassels.
Summary: This headset picks up too much static resulting in very poor sound quality. Could be we just had a bad set, but not entirely sure that this problem is a design flaw. When we returned it to Amazon, we were shocked to find out there is a $28 restocking fee.
