Excerpt: The only bad things I could think of this product are the high cost, I got mine for about $130 at Best Buy, also there is a need to replace batteries for the headset which are 2 Triple A’s and then finally after long, long hours of playing your ears might start to feel a little odd but it only requires a few minutes of rest from the headset and then you’re all good. The Ear Force X31s’ are a great product, deserving a 9 out of 10.
Excerpt: I would recommend this headset to anyone who is up late playing video games so your wife or kids does not hear the sound of the television. I would also recommend these to anyone who likes to be organized as they look nice and are wireless. However, I would not recommend these to children, as they can easily be broken and are somewhat complicated to set up. Like I said above this headset is treating me very well and I’m glad I purchased them.
Excerpt: After a long time using this headset, I can happily say that I found almost no problems with it and that if I could make the choice again, I would definitely buy this headset again. Overall, the headset is quite amazing. I really like how you can tell where any opposing players are coming from. In my opinion, it really enhances overall skill level and helped me get to where I am today. Keep doing what you’re doing TB!
Summary: Provides low quality sound. If you hook it directly to you tv the sound is very low and washed out. It also interferes with my wifi network. Hopefully the newer models significantly imporved upon this, but I won't be dropping this much on another turtle beach product.
Summary: I've had one of these for a while now, and the sound quality is awesome. It's very nice to be able to change chat and game volumes separately. The only drawback is that sometimes if you are in a game with someone else with turtle-beaches, it may echo and cause a communications problems. And the only other issue, is no warning about batteries dying out on you.
Summary: I've been a Turtle Beach fan since the old X1 model. I upgraded to the X3 wireless model and fell in love. Turtle Beach offers create customer service with their online replacement parts. I have had ordered parts here and there to make my X3 model last several years after they discontinued it. Finally the puck broke once again and with no replacement parts to be offered it was time to upgrade to the new X31 model.
Pros: Sound quality when it works.
Cons: Stopped working, breaks out often, static sound most of the time.
Summary: The things I dislike > you have a cord that goes to the controller and its get twisted and unplugs. One other thing there is no warning of when the batteries go dead the headset just goes off. You also need the AV cord to get the sound to work and I had to break the outer shell off so I could use the HDMI and AV at the same time. The sounds are great and the in game play is so much nicer than regular head sets.
Cons: All the little things you have to do to get it to work
Summary: Beware! Some routers and wireless equipment nearby will make them pop. The popping is quite annoying, but can be minimized by searching Google. http://www.turtlebeach.com/support/index.php?View=entry&EntryID=830516923 has several things to try. I plug the usb connector into my TV's usb port, so I can use it any time I have my TV on, which also happens to be just a couple feet from my router, so it popped a lot initially.
Pros: Great audio quality for gaming, movies, or tv!
Summary: This was my first gaming headset that i have ever bought. I have only had a minor problem with it but it was easy to fix. If you are deciding on whether or not you want this head set, listen to me. Get it. It is easy to setup, and easy to use. You might want to buy rechargeable batteries, because they require AAA batteries. But they last a long time. But in all i have had it for 3 years now, and i still use it and its great.
Cons: chat cable might go bad, but they send another one free
Summary: I received this headset as a Christmas present. My kids sleep down the hall from my living room so I needed to do something about the noise causing them to stay awake. This headset was the perfect answer. The sound is more than adequate for my gaming. I'd like it to a little better but is hard to compare when you are used to playing and listening to a klipsch home theatre system. I did notice the cracking that many users clai.
