Perhaps this was a dud, but it was junky.

Summary: 1) Sound quality on PCs was terrible. Even before you speak, it transmits a load of loud electrical humming. When you do speak, it hums over you. There were no windows settings that altered this, and it was the same on two very different windows machines. Window recording device settings, etc, did nothing to curb the hum. I tried connecting it through multiple USB dock locations and then several different intermediary USB device as suggested, and it was still terrible.
Pros: Clear and excellent quality when working properly.
Cons: I spend more time trying to get the mic to work than anything else. In PC mode, talking to friends in mumble, when the unit shuts off automatically, and I turn it back on, the mic does not work, and I am unable to get it to turn on. i can hear others in the chat room, but that is it. i very much regret getting this product.
The PX3 headset worked fine for the first 3 or 4 months

Summary: The PX3 headset worked fine for the first 3 or 4 months, but now, not even 5 months after purchase it will not hold a charge. This renders the product useless... at least I know now not to buy refurbished items from Turtle Beach.
Summary: This item broke 3 days after getting it. It would no longer turn on or anything of that nature, you know, the normal functions of a piece of electronic equipment. Won't buy Turtle Beach again.
Summary: I STONGLY SUGGEST ANOTHER BRAND OF HEADSETS... I'VE HAD 2 TURTLE BEACH HEADSETS AND THEY ARE CHEAPLY MADE THEY BOTH BROKE WITHIN MONTHS I WENT THROUGH 2 HEADSETS AND LESS THAN A PERIOD OF A YEAR... GOOD FOR SHORT TERM BAD FOR LONG TERM.... I DON'T ABURSE MY HEADSETS OR THROW THEM ACROSS THE ROOM... I TAKE LOTS OF CARE TO MY HEADSETS...
Summary: AVOID THESE AT ALL COSTS! I returned one pair of these thinking they were defective when they died after less than a month of use. And by "died", I mean that it just plain stopped working and there was no way to recover it! The battery wasn't dead, it just failed to pick up a signal or produce any sound and was rendered useless. SO, thinking I had just a defective unit, I returned it and got a second headset.
