Reviews and Problems with Turtle Beach EAR Force PLA

Summary: I probably would have rated these as decent if not for a couple problems. First things first, the wiring is a bit of a hassle to work with. They give you two options to connect to whatever sound system you're using, a USB, and RCA containing two wires for stereo audio. These aren't detachable and the wires are fairly long. The wires length are clearly for people who'll use this for console gaming and play on a couch where the system is far away from the player.
Summary: The headphones were not used much but stopped working after two months of owning them. When connected to the PS3, you can hear popping in the headphones, but no audio comes out and the microphone does not work. When connected to the PC, Windows reports that the USB device is malfunctioning and is not recognized. In both cases, the blue LED does not come on. Nothing happened to cause the problem, and they were not used extensively.
Summary: Purchased this one for my kids' PS3, and just survived 1 month of moderate use... then it was dead: No more sound from headphones. No way to call in to Turtle Beach, they only answer questions Monday to Friday via email, so if a prompt response is not received from them, I will have to return to Amazon before the return period is over.
Summary: Headset is extremely uncomfortable. I have a normal sized head but this headset was painful to wear for more than a couple of minutes. Pretty much everywhere the headset contacted my head was unpleasant. This headset is also very cheaply made, it felt very flimsy and not at all well made. I couldn't tell if this was the PS3 or the headset, but the audio quality was horrid through this headset. I am returning mine and wouldn't recommend buying.
