Summary: I tried this headset alongside the Turtle Beach PX21 and PX22. I will say the sound quality is not up to par with the Turtle Beach units. These were certainly not as comfortable either. The cups were hot and tight, and did not go well with my glasses. The Tritton's went right back to the store after only about 2 games of COD with them. The cord was also much shorter than the TB's. You don't have all the Bass/Treble controls that you get on the TB's.
Summary: Was a great product in the beginning. These were my first gaming headset, so I was very impressed with the sound. The quality though was much to be desired. They lasted nearly 6 months before falling apart around. The plastic was very cheap and begun to crack until it eventually gave way and was no longer usable. I was very careful with these and they still fell apart. I wouldn't buy them again.
Summary: I've tried to use this head set on an Xbox, a PS3, and on my PC and there is always a high pitched buzzing sound in the background. It doesn't really get in the way of normal gameplay sounds but if there is ever a point where things are supposed to be quiet, the buzzing ruins it. It may work out well for someone who plays a lot of action games where there is constant sound but if you plan on doing more than that, be prepared to be buzzed to death.
Summary: I've had my headset for three weeks and the two cups have both snapped off. Tried replacing it and now I can't get the sound to work on my PC. Sound quality isn't great and the headset's weird shape makes them uncomfortable after a while.
Summary: I purchased this AX180 on in December, 2011. In spite of my headphones being handled with care and never abused in any manner whatsoever, they broke apart first on the left side and then on the right, both where the earphone connects to the headband. The earphones now dangle from the headband by one wire and are completely unfixable and totally unuseable. Thankfully I got a refund from the store I purchased them from. Not a very long life, 5 months!
Summary: I was in love with these things when I first bought them. I use it primarily for PS3, especially Call of Duty, and I hear everything, they're comfortable, and the mic works well. Having multiple cords running around from it is a bit of a hassle, but no big deal. As has apparently happened to others, however, the plastic headrail thing that connects the earmuffs suddenly snapped on me on both sides, leaving both earmuffs dangling by the wires inside.
Summary: I'm really disappointed in the company as well as the headphones themselves. I'll start with the positives: the headphones are comfy, they work on a PS3 and a PC, and they have a handy switch to mute. But the microphone! First, the microphone is very difficult to plug in. Second, it is very flimsy. I've had it for a few weeks and the microphone is cutting out, and in some cases, it will go dead.
Summary: Bottom line. Just don't get it. The part on the headset dongle where you split off to connect to the xbox wireless controller is on the wrong end. This makes it so you will always have to carry 10ft worth of cord with you when you play. A very very bad design. For a fraction of the price you can buy other headsets which have the connector on the correct side so you can play with "only" the connection to your wireless controller and not need to carry the bulk wiring with...
Summary: I bought this headset about 4 months ago. I thought it would last a long time considering it was Triton. But the thing only lasted me about 4 months! I took care of it very well. I covered it so it wouldn't get dust on in, I handled it carefully and I didn't abuse it or anything. I started having trouble around the 3 and half month mark when I couldn't see my voice being picked up in the party. I fixed everything.
Summary: Sound quality is good for the price as a slightly more expensive mid range headset, but the construction of the headset is suspect. The point where the head strap attaches to the ear cups is very fragile and snapped on both sides after light use. I contacted Triton customer support several times and they did not respond to my emails. very leery of Triton now.
