Technics RP-DH1200 DJ headphones: Review

Electronics Made Easy
19 June 2010
  • Summary: These headphones are very specific in their use, designed for DJ equipment or other professional music setups. The carrying pouch and cord locking mechanisms give great functionality and protection; with the 24k Gold plated connectors providing increased sound quality. They are in a slightly higher price range then other similar models, but the quality of ports and features make this justified.
  • Pros: 24k Gold plated connectors, Carrying pouch, Cord locking mechanism, Swivel ear mechanisms
  • Cons: Needs splash proof design

  • Excerpt: A few years ago, Technics decided that it was time to have some cans that looked a little more deck-like - thus the RP-DH1200s were born. They're really quite similar to many of the the others in the test, but do have a few refinements worthy of a mention. In The Box: The regulation pouch and screw adaptor, as well as a removable cable. Looks: With the DJ headphone being fairly strictly adhered to, these DH1200s look a lot like the rest of the market.

  • Excerpt: I've had about a little over 6 months. I tried the Sennheiser, Monster, an Allen & Heath I hurried to resell. I like the look, sound quality and sturdiness. Besides as I said above some plastics a bit cheap, but nothing really displeases me. While many headphones today are stamped "dj h...

  • Excerpt: I brought these heaphones beacuse I was tired of using sub-par consumer headphones (UGGHHHH!!!!) Theses headphones are great at canceling out unwanted sounds due to the cushion of the inner (nonleather) & outter (leather) padding. The sound is amazing. From 30 kHz to 5Hz is the range for the 50MM drivers. Precise highs, excellent mids and very l...
