I usually have the TDK mp100 on when I leave for work in the morning. I work in transcription and I use this for that too, and I also listen to music in the background as I work. Then I often have this on as I commute back home. It's never hurt my ears, and I've been using this headset that way for months now.
Sound quality? I listen to music on my phone using a really good music app that allows me to adjust CPU usage to fine-tune audio quality. I like the overall balance the mp100 delivers on normal tracks, and I have used it on more bass/treble intensive tracks but they sound great as well. Sound quality from the recordings I transcribe and the music in my PC is fantastic.
I'm not quite sure what to say about the … design. Since it's a big set of cans, I don't know it it's a good idea that it isn't foldable, having its own carrying case. But if it's foldable, I'd risk putting too much stress on the joints and thereby breaking them sooner. And the driver size...for a little extra, they could have been 50 mm instead of just 40. But that's just my preference for high, undistorted bass; driver size usually doesn't make any difference.
TDK could've added a built-in amplifier, active noise cancellation system, or stereo/mono switch, but that's reserved for the more expensive models, I guess. For a Php1,100 priced headset, the TDK mp100 comes without any frills, it just lets you listen to music. But it does that bit on a level higher than more expensive sets...won't mention names....See more See less
