Best headset I ever had
colton P., Newegg
Summary: There are headsets in the same price range, that have a LITTLE better quality hearing and mic. but the interchangable battery and the fact that you litteraly never plug it in far outweigh those specs.
Pros: 5/5 on sound quality 4.5/5 mic quality 5/5 battery life (the one headset that you LITERALLY never have to plug into anything 4/5 comfort I wear it 8-12 hours a day, with school and work both online. It works amazing with my PC, Phone, and PS4. the only time id replace this headset is with a newer...
Cons: a little more padding on the top would make this flawless. It has an amazing mic already, I HAVE had better. but still far better than most
Summary: There are two outstanding features of this headset: Audio Quality and Wireless. The set is adjustable and can be bent for a perfect fit so they are comfy as well. An adjustable sidetone would be easy to add but Steelseries does not have it so shouting into the mic can become a problem.
Pros: Outstanding Audio Quality, Wireless, includes all cables, lies flat on desk when not in use, comfortable to wear
Cons: Customer service, no sidetone / mic monitor, no software, no manual, doesn't really work right out of the box, terrible microphone, included optical cable is too short to be useful.
Summary: Horrible RMA process. They don't recognize NewEgg receipts as proof of purchase. They make you take pictures of product and close your RMA in an unreasonably short time frame. It's a shame the customer service is so bad, because they do design interesting products that are very tempting to buy.
Pros: OK Sound, good mic, comfortable.
Cons: The batteries stopped being chargeable, charging can be buggy. Light on features. SteelSeries customer service is pretty bad, it's basicly set up to hope you don't reply in time, then they'll cancel your RMA. They didn't accept my newegg receipt as proof as purchase and they made me take pictures...
Summary: still searching for the perfect wireless headset
Pros: I bought these for the swappable batteries and what was supposed to be a good experience
Cons: These headphones are quite uncomfortable after only a few hours. The batteries stopped charging in the transmitter so eventually they are unusable. I contacted steelseries support and they chose to ignore my RMA questions and said that I can send them back and if they are deemed not defective the...
Pros: -Great coverage, able to walk all over house without dropping sound even when going through multiple walls -great at blocking out other sounds -Better sound that other wireless headsets ie 930's a50's corsair 2000's
Cons: -very high clamping force on larger heads, had to take them off every 45 mins because they were digging into my head due to the cheap ear pads that flatten out when used for longer periods of time. - mic has noticeably more "noise" than the modmic I used for a long time. but that is a very high s...
Pros: Headset is comfortable and i love how easy it is to connect to everything . The sound is great as well
Cons: It's a shame the company doesn't care about their customers after they have spent money. I have never had such a bad experience with a company in my life. I have put in 5 RMA request as well as posted on their social websites to get and answer on if they had received my headset. I sent in the tra...
Broke in 3 months, 2 months (still waiting) for RMA
Nicolaas P., Newegg
2 July 2015
Summary: Below is a concise version of my RMA experience with Steelseries trying to attain a replacement headset: (RMA ticket handled by "Russ B." 5/5/15: RMA ticket made 5/7/15: initial response, told to input address and select it for RMA to move forward.
Pros: Replaceable AND rechargeable batteries, 2 included with headset. Good sound quality. Very nice base station hardware/software these pros are the only thing stopping me from a 1 egg review.
Cons: WAY TOO MUCH PLASTIC FOR A $300 HEADSET. SteelSeries is known for decent quality in all their wired headsets so why does this thing have cheap *expletive deleted* plastic headband and plastic on plastic balljoint interface that allows for the angle adjustment on the earpieces; I know this because...
Summary: Don't waste your time buying this headset based on other reviews or from the popular Linus tip video. I'm fairly certain he was paid to make these headphones appear godly, it certainly gained my interests. So I bought both these headphones and the universal Astro A50s.
Pros: It's wireless?
Cons: Poor quality sound compared to other $300 wireless headsets. Has WEAK bass even when tweaking equalizer to max. Feels like cheap plastic and cheap pleather earphones. It's bound to break and the headphones are going to disintegrate in time without a doubt.
Summary: Something to think about is that in my experience, each battery seems to last somewhere in the realm of 8 hours. You get 2 batteries and the idea of this headset is that you'll swap one out as soon as it's getting low or dead.
Pros: Pros: Sturdy build quality Very comfortable during long periods of use Sound quality is outstanding and easily rivals that of wired headsets Unique hot-swappable battery tech Mic quality seems fine. I do live stream, and online game a lot and I haven't heard any complaints.
Cons: The advertised wireless range is 40ft. Well, I haven't taken this into an open field to find out if this is true, but your house most likely has doors and hallways and things that might obscure line of sight. The more realistic wireless range is like 20 ft. I can't make it to the kitchen which is...
