Summary: Turned all the way up in a quiet room I had a hard time hearing and understanding dialog in movie's and tv shows even during louder parts. Imagine your idea of perfect headphones. Feel, design, features so on. Now imagine that its Vol knob goes from 0 lowest - 10 loudest.
Pros: Crystal clear sound yet quiet, surround worked nicely but very quietly, comfortable feel. Headset seems extremely well made, feels like it surely would last, not break. Could have loved these.
Cons: Extremely quiet! Using the surround sound feature made everything quieter still. I mean very quiet. Very. Quiet!!!
Summary: I would buy this if you want good music on a gaming headset. The mic is okay, but that is what you get on a headset.
Pros: This headset is amazing if you have a nice sound card. I have a very good creative sound card to power this headset. This is where this headset shines. This is not a good headset if you do use the included sound card or a cheap inboard audio. This is a headset that needs a good amp with very good...
Cons: I have none, it sounds very good on my Windows Phone. Which is a very underpowered phone for audio.
Summary: I have tried to see if I can get a replacement cable but it appears they are not available separately and I'd need a new headset. I do not feel the need to purchase a new headset at this point, but based on this and previous ownership of a SteelSeries Siberia, I do not think I will try SS again.
Pros: These sound pretty good and do an excellent job of keeping out external noise. The earpads are fairly comfortable, they can feel a little tacky with high humidity but I can wear this headset for hours and not have it be uncomfortable. The microphone sounds great and there is no distortion, it als...
Cons: My biggest complaint is the inline volume dial/mute toggle. If I twist the cable this thing flexes, it is plastic and terribly cheap- it does not feel solid in any way. If it bumps into something the volume changes, when the dial does not move. I occasionally have to tap it against my desk to res...
Cons: Internal equalizer that cannot be easily controlled externally. Still works technically but are now very distorted sound on lows and high sounds, happened after about a week of use so might as well be fully broken. Save your money and buy different headphones.
Pros: Good headset. Great sounding quality mic. retractable mic with no poof so its not really noticeable. strong detachable cord, so if you mistakenly yank it by it getting caught under a chair, it detaches so you wont break it.
Cons: i little bit tight on the ears, which makes it slightly uncomfortable. i would honestly recommend the Siberia headset, but if you're on a budget, these are great.
Pros: Good build quality on the external parts. Comfortable. Decent range and depth with the included sound card (lol)
Cons: When I try to use this with my sound card... I lose every bit of depth that I get when I use their tiny little USB card. The biggest example is ARMAIII - using the Steel series headset, I can kind of tell that someone to the left of me, in a 90 degree arc, is shooting at me. When I use my Panason...
Summary: I can't get sidetone to work. I suspect that is just operator error though. I have had issues with the microphone intermittently working. Sometimes it would cut out completely, other times it would make me sound like I was underwater, or turned into a robot.
Pros: My first SteelSeries purchase, and one I'm very happy with. I wasn't sure about how well 7.1 headsets would work. This one erased those worries. In games like ARMA 3, I could easily hear the faintest of sounds and discern what direction it came from. When racing in iRacing or Assetto Corsa, it ac...
Cons: Wish the cord was a little bit longer. No eggs off for that though.
