Conclusion: Overall the SteelSeries 4H Gaming Headphones are an excellent choice for gamers out there, no matter what types of games you play I think you’ll love these headphones. They reproduce sounds very well, they truly do make gaming an immersive and much more enjoyable experience. DragonSteelMods gives the SteelSeries 4H Gaming Headphones a 4.5 out of 5 score.
Conclusion: With balanced and overall excellent sound for both gaming and music listening, as well as an extremely comfortable fit, the SteelSound 4H deserves a very hard look for your next set of headphones.
Summary: The SteelSound 3H Headset that we reviewed previously had a retractable mic that we absolutely loved. The mic on the 4H retracts as well and can be stored out of sight allowing you to use these as headphones without the mic sticking out in pain view. The mic quality is pretty good on this headset and is much better than the 3H for blocking out background noise.
Pros: Nice and light, Comfortable, Decent sound, In-line volume and mic controls, Retractable mic
Cons: Wire runs to each side of the headset, Mediocre bass performance
Excerpt: Do you attend LAN parties? Do you play games late at night where your family members and friends are sound asleep? If you do, then you must need a good pair of headset that will not only feel comfortable but also produce clear sound so you can pinpoint your enemies’ position and defeat them in a bloody virtual battlefield. Check out our review on the gaming headset from Steel Series, the SteelSound 4H and see if this pair of headset is a good choice for you.
Summary: Choosing a headset is largely up to personal opinion but there are more than a few definite factors to steer us in the right direction. Factors like comfort and sound quality are extremely important, but if you need portability that might be a priority. So SteelSeries is on the right path by expanding there line, but the question is- how well did they implement the expansion?
Summary: The SteelSound 4H is a really good headset that comes with a decent price tag. The price performance ratio is a the very top, due to the good audio performance in games and the durable yet lightweight construction. The design is really nice and the headset is one of the most comfortable on the market. It is low-weight and the padding is at the right places.
Excerpt: So, you want a 5H V2 but are a little short on cash? Then the 4H should be right up your alley. With all the same specifications as the 5H V2 the 4H is definitely a contender. However the poor quality cable prevents me from awarding the 4H with a Top Rank Award. Having a great headset is all well and good but its useless if you trip over the cable once and its dead.
Conclusion: If you havent noticed by now, my 3 reviews of SteelSeries SteelSound line has made me a believer, and the SteelSound 4H does its heritage proud. Its comfortable feel and high quality design make it a great choice for a gaming headset. While the headset has less features than its big brother, the 5H v2, its smaller price tag (~$69 USD) might give more people a chance to enjoy the SteelSound experience.I know I have.
