SoundMagic PL30 In-ears

31 August 2009
  • Summary: These earphones provide a good amount of bang for the buck even though they are ridiculously cheap. At $25 I am surprised you can even make a set of in-ears that have the qualities that the PL30s have. Given they are not the best performing in-ears around but for the price they are damn hard to beat. If you are going for a cheap set of earphones for use on the move these are definitely the ones for you.
  • Pros: Small, Amazing value, Provides you with the advantage of IEMs at a very fair cost, Well built, price considered, Brilliant bundle, Attractive design, Handles microphonic noise well
  • Cons: Not nearly as good sounding as more expensive in-ears

SoundMagic PL30

What Hi-Fi?
27 March 2010
  • Excerpt: The SoundMAGIC PL30s prove a pleasant surprise. In the box you get an abundance of buds, both foam and plastic, as well as a chunky but solid carry case and a pair of comfortable over-ear clips. The delivery boasts bouncy, solid bass, with lovely punch and body through the range. The presentation has decent dynamics and scale - only better value rivals holds them back from a fifth star.
  • Pros: Solid bass, good body and punch
  • Cons: Better value from rivals
