Summary: I got a set of XBA-3s a few months ago and I liked them a lot, but I had been wary with them because of the somewhat steep price. Then I found at a local audio-store super discounted XBA-1s and I though those would be a really nice gift for my friend who still used crappy earbuds.
Pros: Extremely clear sound for less tha $100, Small and comfortable, semi-flat cord, super lightweight, Accesory set
Cons: No strain relief, thin cord, don't isolate that much noise, not bassy
Summary: Along with the summary below, I have posted a Youtube review of the Sony XBA-1. If you like the video, please check out my channel for more reviews
The XBA-1 is very practically designed, with a narrow nozzle and a thoughtful selection of tip sizes with Sony's great hybrid...
Pros: Good wearing comfort, lightweight, isolating, mellow sound signature with clear mids
Cons: Blunted bass and treble, grain to the sound, not everyone likes J-cables
Summary: These earphones are massively comfortable and clarity and soundstage is amazing for its price (but im not a total expert on IEM's so maybe there's something better out there). Best used for people that want clarity and listens to rock, acoustic, EDM, classical, live etc for the best experience.
Pros: Good Soundstage, Extremely Comfortable, Clarity is amazing for its price
Cons: Bass goes deep but a bit muffled, needs long burn out for full experience.
Summary: Good sound and good buds. Awesome price too at just over a C-note. Problem for me was that I couldn't get them to stay in my ears even with the smallest pods. When I did hold them in my ears at the right angle, the bass was perfect. Actually, this was the first time I ever felt bass from earbuds.
Summary: I had XBA-40s imported from Japan before these, which unfortunately broke down within a year. These were ordered as a cheaper replacement pair. These H1s are nowhere near as good, especially regarding sound stage.
Summary: A great high quality earphone, though it lacks serious bass. But if you're not a basshead (which I'm not) you'll be quite pleased with these. I also like the fact that it has a J-Cord (wraps behind neck).
Maybe not the best for metal but the sound is quite clear

Summary: Maybe not the best for metal but the sound is quite clear, the earpiece does not fall out of my ear when walking, the foam earpieces are good noise isolators and I like the new colour for a change.
The only dislike i have is that they protrude from the ear ...

Summary: Very high quality headphones, i've previously had a couple of sets of Senheisser and mid range Sonys. Sound quality is very balanced with a slight bias towards bass. Build seems very impressive for a £50 set and it comes with loads of different silcone buds to fit many ear sizes.
