Excerpt: I am an avid gamer who uses the headphones mainly for online play. I also use them to watch online movies. They worked great for about 9 months and then started having issues with the transmitter going out and leaving me with no sound whatsoever. Imagine how difficult it would be to communicate battle strategies with teammates when you can't communicate. Very disappointed with Sony.
Summary: These were great headsets sound wise, but developed cracks within 4 months of light use. Sent them in for repair, but Sony would not honor the warranty and returned them broken beyond use. Calling customer service was pointless, as they will spout whatever is written on their screen repeatedly until you finally give up.
Summary: These lasted about 6 months for me. I loved them but there is a major design flaw with the neck of the headset where it meets the earphones. Both sides finally broke off after I noticed early on that they had endured small fractures from the pressure of not being able to flex from the bend. I hope they fix this issue as I really liked the audio input but it wasn't worth $114 for 6 months.
Summary: The cans literally snap off of the headband. They are made of cheap plastic. After a little over a year I noticed them being lose. Both sides were cracked under normal use. They don't leave my computer desk. I put them on while gaming and take them off when I'm done. That's it. Now I have each can wrapped with electrical tape to try and squeeze a few more miles out of them before they completely fall apart.
Summary: Pros: Looks great, sounds great, comfortable. Cons: Mine got cracked within a month. I've tried putting them on without grabbing the cups, and there are already a few small cracks on both sides of the headset. Really, Sony? I'm going to try putting a bit of super glue in the cracks to lessen the chance of it completely snapping off. I'm 23, and the only one who's used them. Zero abuse. Careful as can be. No excuse for this.
Summary: great sound and good battery life. I have been playing with these since ps3 and now with my ps4. Unfortunately they broke on both sides where the thin connecting piece of plastic is to the earcups. I have made a surgical repair with electrical tape to stop the spread of cracking but that didn't help either. Poor design but great sound.
Summary: I have owned this headset for a year. After 9 months the headset began to show multiple cracks and breakages at the point where the headset band mounts to the ear phones. Upon closer inspection it appears this point of connection is a very cheap and flexible plastic that was either poorly made or designed to fail after a period of time. I would NOT recommend this headset to anyone at any price.
