Good headphones for the price

  • Excerpt: These closed headphones will run for your money. They have extremely good balance, and their comfort is definitely taken part of the design of these headphones. The Sony MDR-XB500 is something I would recommend for someone, at least for the entry level of earphones that want to experience closed headphones.

XB 500's

Steven L., Newegg
23 July 2012
  • Summary: They are worth the cost, but I wouldn't pay to much more than what Newegg sells them for.
  • Pros: Clear Bass, mid to high range sound clearness, the padding is worth the cost.
  • Cons: Don't handle some lower volume levels very well, then again these aren't designed to listen at near silence levels. Short cable as I am used to cables over 10', to fix that I bought an extension cable.

Great headphones for Bass

Anonymous, Newegg
22 April 2012
  • Summary: I'm probably going to return these to get some Sennhiser HD 201's, but thats only because I want to save up my money to buy some really high end headphones, not something in between.
  • Pros: - Extremely comfortable - Very good quality cable - Great design - Massive Bass My experience with these headphones at first was great because I listen to rap and hip hop. But I don't really like bass overwhelming my rapper's voice clarity. So I: Windows 7 1. Search for "audio" 2. Click "Manage Audio Devices" 3. Click on the "Headphones" bar 4. Click "Properties" 5. Click "Enhancements" 6. Check "Equalizer" 7. On Settings click "..." 8. Choose a preset, or create your...
  • Cons: - Cable is way too short (but if your always on the go, maybe not!) - HORRIBLE LEAKAGE!!!!!!!!!!! If you listen to your music loud, and don';t want others to hear it, TRUST ME THESE ARE NOT FOR YOU!!!!!!!! EVERYDAY MY MOM OR MY BROTHER TELLS ME TO TURN DOWN my music which just really annoys me!

User Review

Slawomir G., Newegg
20 March 2012
  • Summary: I rated it 4 eggs only because of the short cord, other than that these headphones proved to me that it's really not worth to spend $200-$400 on some other brands with very similar sound quality.
  • Pros: The bass, and to say that I am satisfied would be an understatement. These things tickle my ear drums. I'm afraid to turn the volume up too high ;)
  • Cons: The cord. I like the flat sleek design of it, however it should have been at least 2 feet longer, that way i could lean back and relax in my chair comfortably. They do leak a bit if you turn it up and if you've got people in your room trying to sleep then it might bother them.

Absolutely astounding!

Rhys Williams, Amazon
18 July 2013
  • Summary: These headphones are the best I've ever heard! Forget your beats! These are the real deal! So comfortable, and they're so amazing! My ears don't sweat, and they're just so great! The sound quality is unbeatable. However, they're not the most stylish of headphones, and the don't come with a hard carry case, so whenever I go anywhere and these are in my bag, I get paranoid about them hitting stuff and breaking.
