Excerpt: The thing is that you don’t even have to turn it up loud for people to hear it so that’s a big problem…and I already told you that is doesn’t get that loud anyways..arggh! I think it’s because the ear cups don’t create a very good seal. Other than that, these headphones are okay. Holds up well, sound far from perfect but sorta fixable with eq, a lot of leaking, good cable, and strong bass.
Summary: Needs serious EQ around the 230hz.... These hurts my ears when loud. I bought JVC HARX900 after these because I was not satisfied. The JVC is amazing after breaking them in... and it does take some breaking in. But the JVCs make me excited to listen to anything. I would rarther listen to the JVCs then my surround sound... But that was what I was hoping for with my Sonys... but that was a fail. The cord is short but not bad at all. It is the bast thing on this headphone.
Summary: The bass is beautiful; you can feel/hear the extra bass as intended, but the clarity of the rest of the music leaves a lot to be desired. In that aspect, I was disappointed, even with the price I expected a little more. Disclaimer: I have yet to play with an equalizer much. They are EXTREMELY comfortable and lightweight though. I have a smaller head (5'3'' female) and they fit like a glove.
Great headphones if BASS is your main concern and great with an amp

Summary: I had these headphones for about 2 weeks now and I have a love hate relationship with them. I bought these because I wanted a lot of bass. These did product the "Extra Bass" that they named these headphones after but at the expensive of the mids and highs. Even though this headphone is known for the bass, I feel the bass is kinda muddy and sloppy. I also bought the Fiio E5 headphone amp from amazon for about $20.
Summary: Bought these because of good reviews but a bit disappointing. The bass on these is really good but the Highs and the Mids are dampen and it sounds abit muddy. But if you're into heavy bass this is for you. Buy this instead of Beats by Dre.
Summary: I tried out the Sony MDR-XB500 headphones and was relatively disappointed by the sound, which was only OK. They don't just offer strong bass, they overemphasize the bass at the express of midtones and highs, giving music a muddy and boomy sound. Sure, you can adjust the equalizer to balance out the sound, but why should have you have to do that? After trying various brands and models I ended up choosing the Sony DRZX701IP.
Summary: I found these headphones on sale for $50. i wanted something comfortable but with good sound quality. theses headphones have huge and extremely soft cushions that go around your ear. they are very comfortable but i was very disappointed with the sound quality. it is very grainy. the base is pretty good but could be better. also these head phones look like you are wearing two big tires on your ears and its pretty ridiculous.
Summary: These headphones are pretty decent for the price. The positives are good sound and they are very comfortable. The cushions are like ear pillows. One negative aspect to these headphones is the fact that the volume does not have to be turned up very loud for everyone around to hear your music. They are also a bit bigger than I had thought. But overall a good set of head phones.
