Excerpt: The thing is that you don’t even have to turn it up loud for people to hear it so that’s a big problem…and I already told you that is doesn’t get that loud anyways..arggh! I think it’s because the ear cups don’t create a very good seal. Other than that, these headphones are okay. Holds up well, sound far from perfect but sorta fixable with eq, a lot of leaking, good cable, and strong bass.
Excerpt: As I had mentioned, I have been through quite a few over ear headphones. I have had a wide range of expensive, to cheap, to "world renowned", to a newer company, etc... I have always loved Sony, but they always miss something I have needed in headphones... But with these new one's;...
Summary: The sound quality is better than any other headphones I've ever owned. Bass is incredible, feels like a subwoofer is hanging on my head! I have an expensive hand built 5 watt guitar amp w\a vacum tube preamp and output transformer stage. I just plugged the phone directly into it. This amp doesn't sound any better than the phones. That is saying something!
Summary: As a DJ who loves bass and has a super tight budget, I couldn't rate this higher. You can really feel the beat with this, and I mean that! The kickdrum booms in your ear, it has that boom boom pow! I'd say this is perfect for DJs. It looks nice, has incredible bass and good quality at a very low price. Great for trance, metal and trip hop!
Excerpt: The MDR-500's are my first pair of headphones, however, I have extensively used several other brands of headphones (Bose, JVC, Sennheiser). The 500's are a pretty good deal. What they lack in sound quality, they make up in comfort. These headphones were designed for pop/hip hop or...
Summary: I mainly use my headphones while listening to music on my ipod touch and it's amazing! I love the comfort and softness of the headphones. Usually with other headphones I have problems with the soreness of my ear, but with these headphones, my ears are cushioned! I love every aspect of the headphones and wouldn't change a thing! J&R offer a great price, much cheaper than in stores, great deal!
Pros: Comfortable, Compact, Durable, Good Bass, Good Value, Great Sound, Lightweight, Stylish
Summary: These headphones have great isolation propertiesdue to the large "absorbent" cushions that absorb ambient sound. It isn't a noise cancelling design that requires amic or more circuits, but it really works well forpassive isolation. Very dynamic sound, too! I like these better than the top of the line MDR-XB700's. So, If you can, listen to them bothbefore buying. I gave them a 4 because they require EQ. Midbass is terrible until they areEQ'd. A real bargain, though!
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Bass, Good Value, Great Sound, Stylish
