Super comfy

Mark M., Newegg
4 June 2014
  • Pros: Super comfy and super nice sound. It sounded better fed through my Samsung Galaxy S4, than on my work computers. Maybe I need to buy an amplifier or some dsp hardware. Overall, I can keep these on all day and not have any ear fatigue. They are that great. They beat the new ones coming out from Sony.
  • Cons: Discontinued! These are soo much better than the new ones.

2011 -> 2014, Wire kink'd

Siddhant M., Newegg
16 January 2014
  • Summary: Just a couple of days ago, the left speaker of the headphone lost their connection, so unless I twist the wire correctly, the sound cuts there.
  • Pros: - Comfortable
  • Cons: - I got these from Newegg for $40 in 2011, why are they so expensive now?

Price should be around 80$

Michael J., Newegg
3 December 2013
  • Summary: Purchase at a local retailer or somewhere else for $80. I'm not sure why its doubled the price here. Maybe, a glitch?
  • Pros: It's very light weight, which means this headphones won't hurt your ear for long time of use. Not to mention, the ear cushions are very soft.
  • Cons: Since the band is made up of plastic, it has become 'loose' It doesn't arch as tight before.

AWESOME

Josiah B., Newegg
20 December 2012
  • Pros: - No need for bass-boosting software or turning up the lower frequencies too much on the EQ settings! (I only turned it up a little bit and the headphones will *shake* with the right bass tones. i.e. lots of bass if you're into that.
  • Cons: Not one thing!

User Review

7 December 2012
  • Excerpt: Had these for years. Very durable (stuffing into bags in airports and such without a case). Great bass response for non-powered headphones. The earpads are comfy, but can get hot and hurt your ears for long periods of time (3+ hours). A little bulky but definitely makes a statement.

great sound. great price

Charcoal, Staples
11 October 2012
  • Excerpt: The sound is better than the beats. I love the noise blocking of this headset. If they last longer than either pair of my Dres did, this will be great buy.
  • Pros: Comfortable, Good Bass, Good Value, Great Sound, Lightweight, Stylish

Good headphones for the price

Jose512, Viewpoints
9 September 2012
  • Excerpt: These closed headphones will run for your money. They have extremely good balance, and their comfort is definitely taken part of the design of these headphones. The Sony MDR-XB500 is something I would recommend for someone, at least for the entry level of earphones that want to experience closed headphones.
