Excerpt: The thing is that you don’t even have to turn it up loud for people to hear it so that’s a big problem…and I already told you that is doesn’t get that loud anyways..arggh! I think it’s because the ear cups don’t create a very good seal. Other than that, these headphones are okay. Holds up well, sound far from perfect but sorta fixable with eq, a lot of leaking, good cable, and strong bass.
Excerpt: Had these for years. Very durable (stuffing into bags in airports and such without a case). Great bass response for non-powered headphones. The earpads are comfy, but can get hot and hurt your ears for long periods of time (3+ hours). A little bulky but definitely makes a statement.
Excerpt: These closed headphones will run for your money. They have extremely good balance, and their comfort is definitely taken part of the design of these headphones. The Sony MDR-XB500 is something I would recommend for someone, at least for the entry level of earphones that want to experience closed headphones.
Excerpt: These Sony headphones are great quality for the price. I bought this for $55 last year at FYE music store. I think the original price was almost $80. The sound quality is amazing very clear and crisp. The bass is just fantastic. It makes you get lost in your music. No matter what music you are playing it definitely gives a nice rich sound without the ruffled sound if the volume is up too high. The ear cups are very comfortable that fits well over the earlobes.
Summary: The neat packaging protected my 50$ investment on a new pair of Sony MDR-XB500, which were bought from Amazon and ive got to say they are the best headphones i have ever used in my life...the bass, treble, and overall sound is well balanced and even better is the king-sized ear cushions which are so comfy like a pillow on your head that i sometimes just forget im even using the headphone...thanks Amazon for the unbeatable prices you give for such quality products!
Summary: When I first tried it on, I was blown away by the sound. I am admittedly not a fan of bass but after having this headphones, I am amazed. The music does not sound overwhelmed by the bass and instead, it is complimented by it. As a person who listens to all genres from classical to metal, I am pleased with this purchase. The comfort is unparalleled as well. I think the only pair that can beat the comfort are my philips o'neill stretch.
Summary: I've looked everywhere for a good value priced headphones that had to have one thing...excellent bass response. After trying out five or six models from different manufacturers I read a review on the XB500's. They were not kidding about surpassing the Beats models for a fraction of the cost! If you're looking for booming bass and don't have a lot of money to spend on a good quality set of headphones than look to Sony XB's.
