Summary: These headphones are garbage plain and simple. I found out too late that these are inferior to the V6s/7506s. Muddy bass, a velied midrange, and a searing treble they are guarenteed to fry your eardrums at even moderate levels. These are to be avoided at all costs. I've already ordered AKGs.
Summary: When I first got these headphones at Circuit City, I tested all the headphones they had there. They sounded the best at the time, compared to all the other crap that Circuit City was selling. I used them for about a year, and got used to them.
Summary: My Girlfriend owns these cans and one afternoon i was forced to listen to Mahler's 6th symphony (great peice of music) through them because i left my Grados at home by accident. I was really hoping that i would be pleasantly surprised by these cans because i wanted my gf to be able to enjoy decent...
Summary: OK, so I demoed the Sony MDR-V600 (because Circuit City sold out of the Sonys I had wanted to buy at the time, the MDR-CD570) because I wanted to replace an aging pair of Sony MDR-V6's, and I thought I wanted something that sounded like those V6's and be more comfortable to wear.
Summary: These headphones are built well, but that's also a disadvantage because they're too heavy. Due to the material used on the earpads they induce heavy sweating around the ears, and the earholes are an annoyance -- too small to surround my ears, but too large to be ignored.
Summary: Sony is full of lies just like Bose when it comes to headphones. Bass to 5hz, IMPOSSIBLE. 106db efficiency, IMPOSSIBLE. Got V-600s last summer and loved them, now I hate that I can't return them (circuit city extented plans are worth nothing). Makes ears ring after about 2 mins.,even at low levels.
