Summary: These headphones are an abomination. Sony, you've gone the way of Breyer's ice cream and Pyrex.
Cons: Constant static on all channels (even when receiver is only 3 ft away with direct los), red and green lights rarely work, periodic larger bursts of static, volume momentarily attenuates with loud sounds (gunshots, explosions), headphones limply rest on your head and cannot be adjusted tighter, signal fades if you move your head to the side a few inches.
Excerpt: I purchase these in June of 2013. I've had them for two months and have nothing but great things to say about these headphones. I watch TV at night while my wife sleeps and these allow her undisturbed sleep while they are very comfortable for me to wear six to eight hours. They sound incredible, the volume is louder than I ever would listen to music or television. They were simple to install and I have NOT had any problems to date.
Excerpt: Permanent static regardless of what I do. I can hear sound but the static is still there. Even if the audio jack is not connected, the static is still there. Seems like it's an issue with the base.
Excerpt: Since my hearing is impaired, anything that helps me amplify sound so I can enjoy time with my family is a treasure. I still need to use closed captions on most movies and TV shows but it's treat to hear the voices and music along with it. It was always just disruptive noise to me before, even with hearing aids. I'm really grateful to be able to share watching movies and TV with my family again.
Excerpt: These headphones are cheap in every way. The earpeice broke and they stopped charging after 3 weeks. The static is maddening, and now I can not use them AT ALL because the headphones won't charge! Buy something else. FAIL Sony!
Summary: lots of people have been saying that there is too much static well that's because you have your audio wrong.set your computer's volume to max or near max and your headphone's volume to almost nothing or close to that. This will effectively eliminate interference.
Pros: good audio comfortable great for extended use
Excerpt: These wireless headphones do a pretty good job of sound quality and comfort. They work well in the immediate area of my living room. They are sensitive to radio frequency noise generators (TV, computer, playstation, etc) and seem to work best line of sight. The only problem I have found is the noise reduction system pumping during extreme low frequency playback (pipe organ 10-20 hz), which you would normally never encounter.
