Excerpt: I purchased the Sony MDR-NC60 Noise Canceling Headphone for my college-bound nephew in April, 2010 from an online site (I can't remember the name) that had it for a penny less than aundred bucks. At other more established sites like Amazon, this headphone runs at about 140 bucks. I made the purchase since my nephew needs to study in a dormitory (where I assume there is a lot of noise).
Summary: The best aspect is the dollars/quality ratio. Compared to high-end similar products (Bose; other Sony) the quality of sound and comfort is just fantastic. Since I use this mostly for airtravel, comfort and noise-canceling are important, but also I do not want to be carrying around a 300 dollar headphone that could get lost, stolen or damaged in travel. I recommend this!
Pros: Comfortable, Compact, Good Value, Great Sound, Stylish
Summary: These noise cancelling headphones work extrememly well at reducing surrounding noise and bringing out the rich sound of music recordings. They perform exactly as advertised and compare favorably to the Bose units costing 2 1/2 times the price.
Summary: Wow what can I say about the Sony headphones? They are the best! I did some research on noise cancelling headphones because I did not want to pay $300+ for bose. I found the Sony's and could not believe how great they work. Even if the battery is off you still get some benefits of noise cancellation. The sound is excellent. I recommend that you try these first before shelling out hundreds more on simular products!!
Pros: Comfortable, Compact, Durable, Good Bass, Good Value, Great Sound
Summary: Pretty good noise canceling in the office and on the train. Unfortunately, the mid- and high-range sound quality is poor - muddy and hollow. The NC60 doesn't begin to match other Sony headphones that I have owned, including the NC40. The poor sound quality is a shame because these are otherwise very nice headphones.
Pros: Comfortable, Compact, Good Value
Cons: Cord Too Short, Poor High End, Poor midrange, Poor Sound
Summary: I really like the headphones. They are way better than the around ear headphones and in addition they have the noise cancelling too that makes them way better than any other for the price range. I recommend these headphones to everybody who are looking for a[$] price range headphones with good sound quality and NC. I am very happy with the purchase and the service provided by J&R is awesome.
Summary: I am a graduate student and I purchased the Sony MDR-NC60 Noise Cancelling Headphones to cancel out noise while I study and they work great. Almost completely sound proof and very comfortable. I am extremely happy with my purchase and for the price you can get a better deal. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone.
Pros: Comfortable, Compact, Good Bass, Good Value, Great Sound, Lightweight, Stylish
