Very Good Choice in Noise Cancelling Headphones

cruz3, epinions.com
17 December 2008
  • Summary: You can spend a lot more to get this kind of quality - both sound and construction - and noise cancelling.
  • Pros: Sound, NC, convenience, price, accessories, and light weight.
  • Cons: Don't fold completely flat, rely heavily on NC function, a little overboosted.

Great for Travel

stephanie bradbury, Amazon
22 May 2014
  • Summary: I'm not an expert when it comes to electrical things but I'm so pleased I purchased these headphones. Not only are they very comfortable to wear if you don't feel like sticking things in your ears, they are also extremely compact and produce excellent sound. I got these to accompany me on my travels this summer, so their folding design and handy complimentary case are so ideal.

Headphone

Terry Fabulous ""Terry King"", Amazon
4 February 2013
  • Summary: Better than any that I have used, but I guess it will be better used only for flight journey, which is what was intended for anyway. The wire seems too long for the daily use and for movement flexibility, it is kind of too long. it does cancel out noise and does what it says.

Sony MDR-NC40 High Quality Noise Cancelling Headphones

Reviewzer, Amazon
1 April 2011
  • Summary: These headphones are good for the price. They are slight when you get them and seem only slightly larger than the old fashioned phones you got with a walkman in the 1990s. That aside they sit on the head easily and the single headband doesn't slip as you might think. Without the noise cancelling on they can be a bit tinny, with the real bass only kicking in when it's switched on. They do keep out a lot of the outside noise but obviously are not Bose as these are cheaper.

Sony MDR-NC40 Noise Cancelling headphones

Partrick, Amazon
6 November 2009
  • Summary: I needed headphones for train journeys to & from London. These work fine & reduce much of the surrounding noise & constant train announcements. Using a laptop I needed to cut out any of the computer noises, whisles & bells, so as not to annoy my fellow passengers, so using headphones achieves this. Phones are adjustable for size, comfortable & stow away neatly in soft pouch supplied. All together I'm very pleased.

Work is now a joy again!

Anton Bates "ARB", Amazon
17 August 2009
  • Summary: Well, being portable head phones, you can't expect these to be of the same quality as more expensive 'non portable' head phones. That said, I find them to be a welcome relief from the annoying big printing machinery behind me and the endless drone of my colleagues talking. Note that it cannot get rid of all sound, that's not what these are about, but it will significantly reduce sound and eliminate the continuous frequency sounds.
