Summary: For the money these give a good mix of sound quality and comfort together with the ability to fold up and be compact. The noise cancelling works well and to better the overall sound I guess you would have to spend much, much more.
Summary: I recently bought a set of the Sony MDR-NC40 headphones as I travel quite a lot in my work and until now I have been using "normal" in-ear Sennheiser headphones, which are fine for standard use but I thought I would like to try a set of noise reduction headphones - just to see what they were like.
Summary: The headphones arrived within 48hours and were well packaged. The headphones are in a very nice case ideal for also holding my Sony walkman. The sound quality is excellent and they had a facility to attach them to your clothing so that the wires do not hang down.
Summary: I bought these to use on a long haul flight as I was fed up of not being able to hear the movies on planes with all the background noise. The noise cancelling has obviously been tuned for aircraft noise as it worked well and the inflight movies were very clear, in fact I had to turn the volume down.
Summary: I would say reduced the most irritating noise on my flight. Probably resulting in about a 30 to 40% reduction in the overall noise and made it much more comfortable to watch the in-flight movies. Very good for the money and comes with an in-flight adapter so don't buy one seperately as I did.
Summary: This is a great value product, much more comfy that any other headphones I've ever had and great sound quality. A few reasons I didn't give 5 stars. The noise cancellation is not top of the range, and only makes a minor difference.
Summary: I bought these as a cheap option for noise reduction headphones. I wasn't sure how well the noise reduction but sat in my office with the computer noise and air-conditioning noise the headphones work perfectly. They are OK in terms of comfort and fit my oversized head easily.
