Summary: I bought these for air travel and, whilst the noise cancellation does work quite well, they leak sound terribly. This isn't too much of a problem if you are using them to watch a film, but if you're using them to listen to music then beware the wrath of anyone sitting near you!
Yes they work, if you can keep them on your ears as they hurt

Summary: Are they worth the price...probably not. They do work and work well. The sound quality with the battery on is great (for someone who doesnt really care too much about the bass etc). The noise canceling does work well. Its down fall..
Good sound, good noise cancellation, bad battery handling

Summary: Bought these headphones around a month ago. Used them primarily in the office, they work great - no other noise, I'm able to work on my tasks. Also took them into an 8 hours flight, and was able to sleep - noise cancellation did work! Now goes negative side.
Sony MDR NC-40 review and comparison to Bose QC 15

Summary: General: A reasonable pair of lightweight headphones which fold neatly into a nice little case to protect them and make transport easier. Clearly a design targetted at air travel. Comfort: Excellent, I wore the phones for a 12 hour flight quite happily with no discomfort.
Summary: Not a bad set of headphones for the money. The noise cancelling works to a degree, but I imagine more expensive ones would work a lot better. I've had them for a year now and they still work properly and haven't broken.
Summary: Bought this because I travel a lot. Certainly acceptable to use on airplanes although there is a certain bleed through of indistinct noise. However this doesn't really hold up on helicopters and you'd need to be spending a lot more than these cost to make that noise go away.
Summary: Title is strange but what I mean is.. When I turn the volume high it sounds great and every but the big problem is everybody around you can hear exactly what your listening to. Personally I don't like it when I am on the tube or on a bus and I have to turn it down really really low so nobody can...
Excerpt: These are a pair of noise-canceling headphones from Sony. With the power of one AAA battery, they can cancel ambient noise. The way they do this is with a tiny microphone on the outside of the headphones, which records the sounds that are heard, and then plays them back at a 180 degree angle, which...
Summary: I think for that money it is what you pay for. They are nice and light, easy to carry around, but as far as the noise cancelling is concern it just was not what I expected, so I decided to return them and ordered more expensive ones.
Summary: badly built, they will break easily sound is good when the noise cancelling is on noise cancelling button is on the wire along with a battery which is awkward the ear cups are a bit small the noise cancelling could be better
