  • Conclusion: Though not as effective in eliminating ambient noise as more expensive sets from Bose and Sennheiser, the MDR-NC40 delivers quality audio performance and noise cancellation that's impressive considering its $100 price tag.
  • Pros: Affordable. Compact, collapsible design. Decent noise cancellation. Enjoyable audio performance with solid bass performance.
  • Cons: Takes a standard AAA battery instead of a rechargeable cell. Battery pack is in the middle of the headphone cable.
