Excerpt: I bought these a few days ago as a replacement for my (more expensive) Sennheiser HD205. The ear pads on those headphones had worn off and they were very uncomfortable to begin with, so I was keen on replacing them with something more ergonomic. In that aspect, the MDRMA-100 is certainly better.
Excerpt: These headphones were great. They sounded great and they were really comfortable. But the cord was really long, I'm 6 foot and it dangled below my knees and ended at my shin while I was wearing them. Which isn't bad, unless you want to sit and listen to music then get up and go.
Excerpt: I have these plugged into my computer, playing music through winamp. With the equalizer set to flat, they have good sound reproduction. I modified my equalizer a bit, nothing drastic on the high and low ends, and it sounds majestic.
Excerpt: I went through a stage of not being able to put the earbud style headphones in my ears. It began to feel really uncomfortable so on my lunch break one day I went out to buy some headphones that would cover my ears.
Summary: For a cheap pair of headphones, they are not too bad. I prefer the open ear design of the MDR-605LP, but alas it has been discontinued. Why they stopped making a clearly superior design is beyond me but I suppose large corporations are prone to these kind of senseless decisions.
Summary: good sound, comfortable suede earpieces and work fine on ipods and mp3/phones unlike my old pair of large headphones, good for inside use as sound better than any of the tiny earphones they do for outside use, but you cant go out wearing these!
