I Should've Stuck With Philips Because These Sony Headphones Suck

Freak369, epinions.com
1 July 2010
  • Summary: Why is it that "new and improved" usually means "this is gonna suck"?
  • Pros: Long cord, were on sale, over-the-ear design, L jack.
  • Cons: Cord is flimsy, strange design, won't last more than a month,

Sony clip-on headphones

  • Summary: The sound is excellent. The ear-piece fit is not as snug as I would like, I think these are a better fit for a man. A great price for a Sony product.

User Review

GREQ, head-fi.org

  • Summary: Cheap, cheerful sport 'buds on clips'. They're a huge improvement over the older MDR-J10 which don't come off when pulled, so these rubber clips allow the buds to be pulled off (by accident) which saves the cable from breaking too easily when snagged. No real improvement on sound quality over the older design which is quite muddy like most buds, but other than that, it's difficult to knock them.
  • Pros: Seemingly good build quality
  • Cons: Not a great sound

Don't buy...

6 June 2008
  • Summary: I too returned this product within a day of receiving them in the mail. I was extremely disappointed because I was looking for new headphones to replace my old Sony headphones, which I loved but accidentally broke. The earpieces are too large and fall out of your ear almost immediately... definitely wouldn't recommend if you're planning on running.

  • Summary: If earbuds don't fit in your ears, neither will these. I am not able to keep these on, no matter how much I try to hook around my ears. They pop right out.

  • Summary: Like many others, I was looking for something that won't fall off my ears while working out. This product wouldn't stay in if I walked across the room. It is not adjustable (though the product instructions tell you to place them in your ear and adjust), does not fit snuggly over the ears, and the actual ear piece is quite large. I opened the box, tried it on, and immediately returned it. Save the $4.50 return fee and stay away from this product.

Sony MDR-J20 is a unique, problematic headphone

kc409, epinions.com
16 November 2006
  • Summary: I would not buy these headphones. They look a little silly, the sound quality is easily compromised and the pros do not outweigh the cons.
  • Pros: no tangle cord! over-ear strap
  • Cons: the sound quality is not constant, not very hard to break
