Sony MDR-J10 h.ear Headphones

Aspire2Be, ReviewStream
25 July 2014
  • Excerpt: I absolutely love Sony’s MDR-J10 headphones. They fit around my ears perfectly, they’re comfortable for extensive use, and they don’t fall out real easy. I’ve come to love the hook design that these headphones use.

  • Pros: attach well to the ears
  • Cons: Really bad, no bass, buy new ones in "Five Below" at $ 5.00 and were much higher

Great, but they may be engineered to break

Josh C., Newegg
27 November 2012
  • Summary: I took apart both pairs, and they look fine. I tested the speakers in the broken earbuds and they still work. I'm going to try to splice in some new wire leading to the earbud. Headphone wire in general is tiny, with little insulation between the ground and power/signal, so I wouldn't suggest doing this unless you are experienced with soldering and planning to through out the headphones.
  • Pros: The sound is great. I've owned two pairs of these, the first lasting over a year, where the right channel gave out. They don't fall out, ever. They are plenty loud. On my zune, I can hear the music perfectly clear at 1/20 volume if it's quiet, and at 10/20 I can't hear anything outside of the music.
  • Cons: My second pair just broke in the exact same fashion as the first pair after about 8 months to a year, in that the right ear gave out. Wiggling the wire would sometimes get it to work, but that has stopped working. Some of my friends had trouble putting them on. Cord is to short for me to use it on my desktop

These are awesome!

Kevin W., Newegg
2 November 2012
  • Summary: I have owned these for 2 months short of a year. I use them at the gym 5-6 days a week. I would go through a pair of apple headphones every 3 months but these things are still going and sound good.
  • Pros: Sound decent, they hold UP!
  • Cons: None really, pretty long cable but sometimes that is good.

Great head phones

5 June 2012
  • Pros: Love this head phones. I do not have to worry about the headphones fall off my ears while jogging. Sound is great for the price. Worth of money.
  • Cons: My ears are a little small so it need a little adjustment. But this is just a minor issue.

Got these to replace like item

Donald K., Newegg
26 May 2012
  • Pros: Had a pair of these for years and then one channel failed, I think it was a broken wire when they caught on something. I like that they don't fall off and I can use them with my laptop or mp3 player, and the sound quality is good. Good price with free shipping.
  • Cons: The cord isn't long enough to use on my desktop.

Best Qualty for Value

Rebecca G., Newegg
3 May 2012
  • Summary: I highly recommend these for anyone who wants good sound quality but doesn't want large bulky headphones.
  • Pros: For the price you are paying, these are fantastic quality, they get loud, and the audio ranges are very nice. I have had these for roughly 4 years, maybe a little less, and I have accidentally caught my wrist in them, I have used them constantly, I have accidentally yanked them out of the plug, and they still work just as well as the day I got them.
  • Cons: Nothing, maybe it is a bit hard to clean the ear bud part.

Excellent at what they're designed for

Scott G., Newegg
24 April 2012
  • Pros: These headphones fit comfortably and stay in place. Critical when exercising! Good overall sound quality.
  • Cons: My first pair (ordered straight from Hong Kong) arrived with only one channel working. I received a second one in good working order. It has served me well for nearly a year but lately the bass is starting to sound distorted. Oh well. These things can take punishment.
