Sony MDR-EX71

PC Magazine
4 August 2007
  • Excerpt: If you like bass, you'll love the Sony MDR-EX71 headphones. Online opinions say that the bass is too thick and muddy and that there are no highs, but they're only half right. Our oscilloscope tests show that the bass is quite clean, not muddy in the least, and also that it extends noticeably deeper than that of other canal phones. The MDR-EX71s are actually a very good companion for players that are weak in the bass.

Sony MDR-EX71SL series

CNET
29 October 2006
  • Summary: If you're searching for reasonably priced premium earbuds, stop here and take a hard look at the Sony MDR-EX71SL headphones.
  • Pros: Ultracompact and comfortable; included carrying case and extension cord; sounds better than most earbud-style sets.
  • Cons: Some less expensive, nonearbud headphones sound better; not ideal for runners; cord length and behind-the-neck styling may be problematic for some users.
