Summary: Have bought several of these over the years. Very good sound reproduction, required for this product. In time, like all this type of product - the wires give up. Better reproduction and survival than others I have bought over the past 30 years.
Summary: Compared to the previous model (MDR-E818LP) which these replaced, these are complete and utter rubbish, and I'm shocked that Sony would sell such tat. If you want good sound quality DO NOT buy these!!!
Summary: I usually buy cheap Sony earphones for every day use and manage to get a couple of years out of them. These ones are even cheaper so thought I'd try these out. I always stick to Sony gadgets and these lived up to expectations. The sound is crystal clear, I seem to be noticing things in songs that I never noticed before and the noise cancellation means I don't need the volume up so loud.
Summary: Really awful pair of headphones! I had the E818LP and thought these were the modern version. WRONG! They sound like the bands were playing inside a tin. Bad bad bad indeed! I wish I could buy the ones I had before or something that cheap with that same quality. That was my intention! Why did you do this Sony?
Summary: Me too, for years, was always buying the old black MDR-E818. I always been happy with it. So I go to the store to buy new ones and I see this new model replacing the old. So I buy it without questions. The first time I tried them, like some others here, I thought that I had wrongly plugged them, or that my mp3 player was somehow wrongly configured.
