Summary: I exitedly opened the box when it arrived. The first thing I had noticed was on the box it stated that Plasma Screen may affect the signal. It had not stated that on the webpage so I was a bit tiffed about that. Then I proceeded to hook it up. The insallation was really easy. I opted for precharged batteries to go ahead and try the suckers out. The plasma interference is not a dealbreaker. I listened to the with the TV off and then on.
Summary: Reading through the reviews before I bought these headphones, I was aware of some of the downfalls. 1) They can't be used with a plasma tv. 2) They have very limited line-of-sight range. 3)They have funny sony-only batteries. And while these are true, I am blown away by how much I love these headphones. They are incredibly comfortable to wear. Many headphones hurt my hears after a couple of hours. I have a larger head and these don't pinch my ears at all.
Summary: I've had these headphones for at least two years and I still love them. I use them to listen to TV and find that the battery lasts a fairly long time before needing to be recharged. They're also extremely comfortable. You can't wander very far away from the base at all without them cutting out, but if you know that ahead of time and this fits your needs, they're great.
Summary: This was the 2nd set we purchased and purchased it from Amazon.com because the price was excellent. My husband has a hard time hearing certain voices on the tv and we bought a set about year ago to listen to tv in our bedroom. It works beautifully. I even use it to keep from disturbing him when he is sleeping. We decidided to buy another for the living room.
Summary: This product is is funtional as advertised and more. Good clean sound, no noise and tons of volume. Ease of use and comfortable to wear for long periods of time. It is light in weight and auto shuts off automatically. The volume control is a thumb wheel design located in a good position however if it was a little larger it would be easier to turn.
Summary: There IS background hiss of significant and distracting levels from the cheap amp on these headphones. Compared to the Pioneer wireless these are junk. Further, the implementation of the dolby functions, including virtual surround, is very poor. Again, hear the Pioneer which are amazing in comparison. There is little bass, and the treble is distractingly bright. Verdict: Fail. For an equally compromised set of headphones, but with long range, See the Sennheiser R130.
Summary: I had these headphones for a couple of days, but returned them because of the constant background hiss. I typically used them 13 feet from the transmitter, at night when there was no sunlight to cause infrared interference. The transmitter was connected to my Tivo HD using optical cables. There was nothing I could do to eliminate the hiss except turn the volume way down. It was very disappointing.
Summary: We purchased a new TV but my hubby's old headset would not work with the new one. What to do?? Hubby is very hearing impared and in able for him to enjoy the TV I needed to get him something to accomodate his weakness. I purchased the new Sony MDR-DS3000 infrared Wireless Digital Surround Headphones from Amazon. Thanks to Amazon he now can enjoy all of the programs on TV.
