Summary: Bought these the day after Thanksgiving sale on Amazon for a great price of 30 dollars in comparison to the original price of over 130 dollars. Got headphones and was not impressed with the sound quality of these headphones. Very low bass and as it is noise cancelling, it also acts as a mini-speaker since it protects so loudly when off the ears. Also within 7 days, the right phone stopped working and I had to send off to Sony Service Center to get fixed.
Summary: I thought I would upgrade to HD headphones from a pair of SENNHEISER HD280's, BOY WAS THAT A MISTAKE! The extra hi frequency range and lower response was what attracted me to the flame, and it burned! Worst feature: -There's no kick in the bass, and if I tried to max it out, it just distorted the track. -It's got SCREAMING hi's and very weak lows. Not what I was hoping for AT ALL! Best feature: they're cheap (U get what u pay for!
Summary: I bought these headphones yesterday from a store, and I am not very impressed. I actually paid $100, and I thought for the price they would be great headphones. I was surprised when I first put them on at how small the ear holes are. There is barely enough room for my whole ear to fit inside, but the edges of the padding are pressed against my ear, and it is uncomfortable. And I don't even have big ears. The ambient sound switch is retarded, it does nothing.
Summary: these headphones are a complete waste of money. the headband is connected to the earphones by plastic and within two weeks both sides completely snapped and wiring started to come out from the ear phones. on the plus side though, the sound is really good it's not worth it though and now i need new headphones.
Summary: As some others in this space have said, they are great while they last. They produce great sound and the open/closed switch seems to make a noticeable difference. The problem, which is unavoidable, is the durability. If you plan to use your headphones on a daily basis do not buy these as they will not last. I've had mine for about 3 months and the 'Y' connectors on both earpieces have both snapped in two.
Summary: These headphones were great while they lasted. They are indeed very comfortable, however after about a month of daily use, the y-shaped piece of plastic that holds the can to the headstrap broke. I repaired it, and only two days later the other side broke. I've read a lot since that these pieces break all the time. Secondly, the open/closed switches that supposedly block out ambient noise, or let the noise in, do not do anything. I can not notice any change what so ever.
Summary: UPDATE (I had to delete my old review and write a new one because Amazon wouldn't let me change the rating): Well, I hate to say it, but I have to change my rating to 2 stars. Like others who bought this product the "Y" frames that hold the earpieces snaped like a twig when I was taking them off. I plan to take them to the Sony store and see if I can exchange them for a new set. If not, I will be buying a different brand of headphones.
