I recently bought a Sony stereo headset and I must say it really gave me some high quality output and optimized my music listening libido. I am a music freak and like listening to it even when I am sleeping. The other set of headphones which I had was cumbersome especially when I listened to it at night as it had a head band and thus I could not sleep listening to the music. Read more

I found these headphones great for running!! They actually stay in place the entire time!! It also has the option for a shorter cord or longer if you need it so again you don't have all this extra cord flapping around when you run!!The base on the headphones is okay but you get used to them after using them a few times. Still worth the money!! Read more

The ear phones sounds great but you need to make sure you find the right size rubber surrounds to comfortably fit your ear otherwise it'll get irritating after a while. They are easy to clean and very durable. Excellent for when I'm at the gym. Read more

The biggest problem I have with these headphones is that the jack is super-sensitive. By this I mean that it needs to be at *precisely* the right angle, or the sound will just stop, exactly as if the jack had been yanked out of the socket by accident. This means that it's impossible to walk around with my mp3 player in my pocket, let alone do any sort of exercise. Read more or see product

Total disappointment. I read that Sony earphones had great sound so I picked up these to replace my lost ipod earphones. They fit in the ear very nice and comfortably but they sound terrible. Absolutely no bass. Very poor dynamic range. Read more

The Sony MDR-AS40EX is a part of the company’s Active Style product line of sporty headphones. The MDR-AS40EX have an earbud design and has hangers that go over each ear. These soft ear clips help keep the earbuds in place during strenuous physical activity. The earphones can also be used as regular earbuds when the ear clips are removed.

The MDR-AS40EX is lightweight at only 21 ounces with the ear clips and is available in a low-key black color with red and silver accents.

The earphones have a 9 mm diameter driver with neodymium magnets. Along with the neodymium, the MDR-AS40EX’s earbud design, when seated in the ear properly, provides better bass reproduction.

It has a modular cord with the main cord having a length of 2 feet and the included extension cord measuring an additional 2 feet. The length of the short main cord is meant to make it more convenient to use with a portable media player carried on an arm band. The main cord also has a clip which the wearer can use to keep the wires secure and out of the way. Another useful feature for the fitness enthusiast is the Sony MDR-AS40EX’s moisture guard. The moisture guard is designed to keep the wearer’s sweat away from the speakers by routing the moisture around the headphones.

The Sony MDR-AS40EX package includes 3 earbuds of different sizes (small, medium and large) to ensure the user finds the most comfortable fit. Sony has also provided 3 different sizes (S, M, L) of the soft ear clips. An additional accessory in the box is a hard plastic carrying case.
