Summary: I gave this a 4 instead of 5 star, because after reading some other reviews, I see the problem I have with them is quite common. I have been using mine off and on at the gym for 3 or 4 years now. Today, I started losing some sound in the left ear. After reading other reviews, I can see this is a common issue. However, getting almost 4 years of service out of them isnt bad. The sound is as good as anything else I have ever used. The only other draw back is the short cord.
Summary: Secure. This is by far the most important thing that I look for in a pair of active headphones. Having to constantly re-adjust any thing whilst im running/cycling is annoying and can get quite stressful. These headphones do not slip and require no adjustment past the putting them on in first place. The sound quality is decent; expected with sony headphones in the price range. The cable is made up of a small cable coming from the headphones and an extender.
Excellent Sport Headphones with great sound 4.5 out of 5 Stars
8 April 2012
Summary: Love these headphones. Vendor sent them in original packaging and on time, and bought two here for what I would have paid for one at J&R-NYC. Sound is great, but they aren't noise canceling with is good when I'm walking around NYC or rollerblading. My first pair lasted around 6 months, and I'm rough on them (snagged on gym equipment, on subways, busses, etc). The cable finally gave out after one too many snags.
Summary: If you like this style of headphones for exercise (neckband, on ear), you cannot beat the bang for the $. Sound great, pretty comfortable, stay in place on while running, eliptical, cycling, lifting, whatever. Plusses are the headphones themselves do not get uncomfortable in/on your ear when you sweat, they sound great, and they stay in place.
Summary: I ordered both this and sh5200 and the philips gave me a headache coz it was too mid-range heavy, and no amount of tweaking in equalizer fixed that. This sony, however, has an awesome, deeper bass and it DOES respond to equalizers.
Summary: For the price i think that these are the perfect headphones. The only thing I miss is a volume control on the cord would be convenient if using these in an armband. For the price I find these the perfect running and workout headphones. They stay in place and they sound pretty good.
Summary: An excellent product with great sound quality, very comfortable to wear for sale at a resonable price. If it's got a weak spot, the wire around the phone jack could have been reinforced a little more
Summary: just got these and tried them out for the first time today on my morning walk. sensitivity is somewhat better than the other (cheap) cans i was using, so these are a bit louder at the same setting. not much in the bass department, but its a morning walk, not a disco. they fit well, but i wish the cord was a just a tiny bit longer. for me, another inch would be perfect. it does come with an extension, but then its too long.
Summary: These headphones are very good for running. They don't slip, are reasonably comfortable, and allow me to hear cars and verbal warnings from bikers. Sound quality is OK, but that's not the selling point for this item. I would certainly recommend these for outdoor or treadmill running.
Great headphones for long distance running, but chord gets worn out easily

Summary: These headphones are the best I have found for long-distance running so far. I have bought other Nike, Sony, and Phillips headphones ranging from $10 to $50 in price, and these are the most comfortable, and stable headphones that won't get in your way. the design of these headphones actually clings to your head, in a very comfortable way, along with two "buds" that sit in your ear for extra stability.
