Summary: These headphones were not designed very well imo. There is a noticable seal problem. The headband has zero pressure and the earcups swivel in the wrong direction. When you press on the earcups for seal, the sound gets much better.
As a result, the sound is suprisingly bass light for a skullcandy. The mids are Ok in this price range and the soundstage is pretty good. The highs are terrible though. Very plasticy, peaky.
Summary: First off, I've had these for over two years now. They have lasted longer than the FYE that I bought them from. Remember that Skullcandy has released new versions of the Lowriders so those may be "generation 2's" while mine (being bought two years ago) are "generation 1's". Anyway, here's my two pennies:
They really bring out the highs (specifically while listening to James Blunt :)
Pretty cool looking
Loud enough to get glares from...
Summary: They are a very cute item I bought for my 16 year old for her birthday but they were broken in a week. The top that takes most of the wear is only plastic and when she takes it off it isnt strong enough so it broke.
Summary: Over the last 5 years, I've gone through at least 15 pairs of headphones. They either break, something happens to the cord, or I'm just not happy with the sound quality.
Finally, I've found the perfect pair. These are the best headphones I've ever owned. I've had them for six months and they are in the same condition as when I took them out of the package. Well-made with a nice, comfortable design.
Summary: These headphones are ok. The sound is ok. The fit is ok. The construction is less than ok. Simply put, go for the hesh. sure they're more money but its way worth it if you get the warranty on them. If you want quality sound and construction with style, go for hesh. dont waste your time + money on these.
Summary: These broke on one side after only a few weeks of use, plastic snapped. Glued it back together and made do until the other side also snapped - in two places! - after just a couple months.
If I wanted a pair of headphones that I'd have to baby every time I put them on, took them off, or adjusted them, I would have bought a cheap $10 set. These are NOT worth the money.
Summary: The headphones looked so cool and functional online but they snapped in half the first week I had them. They are not made for DJ'ing or heavy computer use, I was using them as MP3 headphones and that's when they snapped. Sad times.
Summary: I have to say I've wanted these headphones for a while. Voila my partner got them for me for Christmas. The sound was excellent and I'd say on par with his Bose headphones. The look was (obviously) awesome...
and then crisis happened. Four days ago (so less than a month after owning them) I was taking them off my head like normal and they band just snapped. It broke in two. I didn't use force (I'm ridiculously gentle with them) nothing like that.
Summary: Purchased these headphones for my daughter. She loves them - I've used them also and find them exceptional. The quality of the sound is very good - and the headset itself is very comfortable. I received them in a timely fashion as they arrived the day before her birthday. She was thrilled and so was I. Better than earbuds for comfort but not as 'convenient'.
