  • Summary: My original review was too short, coz I didn't have time to write it, but just want to give the rating to express how much I love this headphone. It is probably the most expansive phone I have ever purchased, (and would not be the last....)   Outlook: Simple but delicate design, High quality metal on the frame, MMCX connection hole suitable for most DIY or Upgrade cables, Unbelievably light weight, Feel almost nothing on the head, Reasonable clamping force, Open Can...
  • Pros: Smooth + Accurate Highs, Sweet + Rich Mids, Natural and Clear Bass. Neutral, Realistic + Wide Soundstage
  • Cons: None ( but you do need to change the cable and burn-in or run the headphone for at least 30-50hrs to remove the "Thin" feeling )

SRH 1840 Headphones

Ken, B&H Photo

  • Excerpt: The SRH 1840 are use for critical listening to mix and mastering audio material. They are very neutral with a well define low end. At this time they are not fully burned in, but the translation between phones to speakers is great. Audiophiles will love them for their good retain price.
  • Pros: Clear Sound, Lightweight

  • Summary: I recently purchased a pair of SRH-940 and was very taken with their sound, enjoying their open presentation and level of detail. So when presented with an opportunity to hear and review the SRH-1840 I jumped at the chance even though I knew I could not afford the flagship headphone at the moment.
  • Pros: detailed, transparent, efficient
  • Cons: headband padding a bit thin

  • Summary: My impression of the 1840 is: Bass does not roll off, but is slightly less than the Shure 940. Mids are excellent. Presence isn't as lively as most headphones like the 940 or a Grado or even the Senn 600 series. Highs are excellent. The overall presentation is ultra-smooth and creamy sounding, slightly forward, and basically mids-centric with less emphasis on the ends than most of the competitors.

Shure SRH-1840 Stereo Headphone Review

Dale, B&H Photo
9 February 2012
  • Excerpt: The first thing people want to know about a new headphone is "How does it sound?" In the case of the SRH-1840 the verdict is: Excellent. The second question people ask is "Is it worth the cost?" That determination is purely subjective of course, and takes into account things other than the sound. My verdict: Yes, with no reservations.
  • Pros: Clear Sound, Durable, Easy To Use, Lightweight, Versatile

Flagship Beauty by Shure!!!

Angad Nijjar, Snapdeal
18 October 2013
  • Excerpt: The flagship Shure SRH1840 open, dynamic headphones are their first entry into the high end audiophile portion of the market. In a crowded field that features many excellent headphones - such as the Sennheiser HD 650s - in this price range, the Shures are a good example of an engineering strategy that emphasizes a more neutral acoustic approach to music.
  • Pros: Clear Sound, Easy To Use, Versatile
  • Cons: Bulky/Heavy

Perfekt
