amazing - simply the best

Robert C., Newegg
12 June 2007
  • Summary: Newegg is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but they are pricier on these headphones than some other sites. Look around and you can find it cheaper (i got mine for around 2 bills).
  • Pros: The sound is incredible - without a doubt. I was so skeptical of earbud headphones, that I tried several other options (bose noise cancellation headphones, etc.) Let me tell you, these blow the bose headphones out of the water in terms of quality and noise cancellation/isolation. I just flew for ...
  • Cons: None - not even the price. They are worth every penny.

designed for the audiofile

Nicholas M., Newegg
20 February 2007
  • Summary: These are the fourth set of earbuds I've had over the past several years after going through 30-60$ ones, and there's no comparison. My recommendation is to use the triple flange in your ears.
  • Pros: In-line volume connector, incredible warranty from Shure (they replaced my set when I had issues with one of the drivers on the left channel, and replaced my in-line volume adaptor when that malfunctioned and did not have to pay anything either time). Most importantly, the full range of sound and...
  • Cons: Cost. Also, it would have been nice for them to include a standalone headphone amplifier to carry around to get better sound from portable mp3 players.

Not bad

PAUL M., Newegg
23 September 2006
  • Pros: I was looking for Earbud type headphones so I could take them to the gym and not have to carry the larger over the head ones. Ive been in radio for over a decade so i cant stand cheap sounding headphones. I did some research and these came out on top so I bought them. The Shures sound good but yo...
  • Cons: I dont think these things are worth the 299 i paid for them. I think you can find them cheaper online. I would say a fair price would be about a 150 dollars. If you like a lot of bass these earbuds are not for you. I had much better sound on my Sony V600 headphones. But then again you have to tak...

Ideal for frequent flyers

Patrick D., Newegg
28 January 2006
  • Pros: Very impressive noise attenuation (recetly tested in aircraft) coupled with excellent sound reproduction makes this product the ideal solution for Audiophile travellers. Attenuation is naturally obtained by hear plugs, no problem due to electronics noise cancellation and loss of dynamic response ...
  • Cons: Require adaptation time to Ear Plugs, not that confortable despite the choice of size and type delivered with this model. Cable could have been a bit lighter.

Incredible Bass Depth

Mr. S., Newegg
9 January 2006
  • Summary: These headphones HAVE to be directly in the sound card, I had them chained to my speaker headphone jack that was plugged into the sound card and the sound was average. Just average. Also sounds 'average' when plugged into my bass amp.
  • Pros: These in-ear monitors are absolutely, hands-down, the best audio I've ever heard from my computer. I have an x-fi pci sound card installed with z5500 speakers hooked up and they just can't match the depth of sound I'm getting. The highs are a very warm high (not squeaky or whatever) and the lows ...
  • Cons: Length on the cord, read next for why.

Superb

fatboysli..., Ciao
13 January 2006
  • Excerpt: I bought these to replace my Shure E3C earphones, I was impressed with the E3C but when I listened to a friends E4C then there was no contest, I found the bass was a lot better than the E3C and the overall sound was more natural.
  • Pros: Excellent Sound, comfortable fit
  • Cons: Maybe a bit fiddly to insert but you soon get the hang of it
