Shure E2g: Expensive; difficult to put on - but it sounds like a dream! ...

  • Summary: Bought these as a treat, having been using cheaper earphones for most of my music listening. The higher price tag granted some high expectations; PACKAGING: you don't get much here; just the earphones and a felt bag to hold them in. What's good may be the fact that the wire is fairly long, and should suit most needs. PUTTING IT ON: This was the most difficult part; the earphones are oddly shaped, and have to be tilted at an angle before they will fit in your ear.
  • Pros: Lower-end of expensive earphones - good, deep sound and basic durability
  • Cons: Price - plastic casing & felt carrier cheapen the product

Brilliant earbud type headphones

  • Summary: Best pair of earbuds i've ever owned. Previous to these types of headphones (this is my second set - lead got damaged, come back to that later) i owned some sony fonotopia earbuds, which while they were very bassy the midrange lacked, and the treble was a little tinny. These sures remind my of my old (OLD!) Yamaha electrostatic headphones, except they dont weigh 3lbs each side.
  • Pros: Sound quality, construction and materials of high caliber
  • Cons: Takes some getting used to how they fit in your ear, but once you're used to it you'll not go back
