Canal phones are a relatively novel type of headphone when it comes to consumer audio gear. The Shure E2C is a mid-priced canalphone with exceptional sound, that can be easily driven by most portable audio players. Read more

    • Isolation from outside environment, several sleeve sizes included, nice case, excellent all around sound
    • Sometimes difficult to get a perfect seal, may not be comfortable to all users, total isolation design not recommended for outside use

These light, durable, and accurate ear-canal headphones provide lots of value but are slightly uncomfortable; a significant portion remains outside the ear. They're a good choice for those who won't be adding an amp to their rig. Read more

Noise-reducing headphones Listen to your music as it was meant to be heard, and cut out the background noise in the process Everyone knows the standard iPod earphones aren't up to the job, and the other MP3 players on test also shoot themselves in the feet by skimping on headphone quality. Here, we haven't just rounded up a selection of expensive earphones, but found ones that reduce or block out noise - all for under £60. Read more

The E2c delivers a cleaner aural experience than most earbud models, so you hear greater detail without suffering excessive brightness or harshness. Bass definition and power are quite good. In fact, the E2c's sound quality compares favorably with that of our reference full-size headphones, Grado's SR 60. While the deep-mounted earpieces may take some getting used to, the E2c sounds great. Read more

Summing up, I found these Shure E2c's to be a touch rolled off at the top end, but part of the perception is just how clean the sound of the high end is. This is also a bit of a mixed blessing when always listening in pro situations. Overall though, I found their sound to be very natural and of superior quality than one would expect at this price. The E2c's are my new favourites. Read more

I bought these canalphones to replace a pair of Sony Funtopia's that I've had for almost 2 years (the rubber cord has disintegrated). I made a mistake in that I read only the "most helpful" reviews a.k.a the ones that you see first. Somehow they were all extremely positive. So let me just say right up front, the best advice I can give anyone looking into buying these is to READ THE WORST REVIEWS TOO. Read more

This is the first set of earphones I tried that actually fits my small, hard-to-fit ear canal. The included ear pieces provide almost limitless choices. They fit, they're comfortable, and they stay in! The sound is excellent. Music (classical) is true and the stereo is good. I get good balance. Obviously, a concert hall is better, but this is more than adequate. For audiobooks, the spoken word is clear and comprehensible. Read more

Experiment with the sleeves. The trick to the foam ones is to roll them between thumb and forefinger to compress them. Pull your ear up and out while inserting the buds before the foam expands. Hold it for a second or so while the foam expands and you have a good seal. Read more

    • Excellent sound isolation with the foam. I mow 3 acres with a rider and and listen at a mid volume level without. In the evening when things are quiet I can set my 30g...
    • Putting them on takes a little bit to get the hang of. Takes a little experimenting to figure out which sleeves are the right ones.

I bought these earphones as a replacement for my ipod headphones which broke. I bought these after trying out my friends pair and I was absolutely amazed.Sound quality wise the detail and definition that you have been missing while listening to your favourite tracks cannot be put into words. The headphones are very well designed and are packaged in a small zip case which is handy for storing your headphones. Read more

Shure E2c-n Sound Isolating Earphones 4 Shortly after receiving my Shure E2c-n headphones I used them with my I-pod Nano for about an hour and was quite pleased with their performance. Later, however, when removing the earpieces from my ears I realized that 1/2 of the left earpiece casing was still stuck in my ear. Though it came out quite easily I could not get the earphone casing to go back together. Read more
